    Daytona 500 --- RACE thread

Exactly. Typical Kyle not taking responsibility for what he/his team have done.

Woohoo! There goes half the Toyotas!

    Daytona 500 --- RACE thread

I said other than on tracks where you can pit without getting lapped.

    Daytona 500 --- RACE thread

I guess I don't get it. The gain from newer tires at Daytona is minimal, which is the main reason I know of for short pitting. We'll see how it shakes out.

    Daytona 500 --- RACE thread

What do they gain from this? Track position at Daytona is all but meaningless, and they'll have to pit again at the end of the stage

    Daytona 500 --- RACE thread

Yeah, no excuse for burning 7 laps with that BS

    Daytona 500 --- RACE thread

Also, how are we not on one to go yet when there is nothing to clean up?!

    Daytona 500 --- RACE thread

I somewhat agree with this. It screws up the length of races to count these laps, and the record book to call them cautions. Make those two changes and I may tolerate this...

    Daytona 500 --- RACE thread

Finish didn't look much different than any other random lap imo. I've always thought the drivers try most of the time anyway.

OMG!!! Contact with the wall and no caution! First glimmer of hope this new year.

    Happy Daytona Day!

Coffee only. My wife is enforcing a diet even on Daytona Day :(

    Over/under 28 for the Daytona 150-150-200?

I think this will be a clean race until the end. The experience mentioned above plus the fact that the Sprint Cup package doesn't lend itself to the kind of racing the Xfinity and truck packages do.

    Daytona Day Is Trash

This review is trash. OMG product placement in a NASCAR ad! Unreleastic shots of the garage! Trying to be inclusive of non-traditonal fan bases! There is ALOT to complain about in NASCAR this year. These ads are far down the list.

    Xfinity RACE thread --- Daytona

Exactly. He probably knows more about race cars than the posters here.

    Xfinity RACE thread --- Daytona

That damage is being repaired haphazardly in a race where a new rule is implemented encouraging haphazard repairs is hardly coincidence. Again, if you don't believe me, believe Harvick.

    Xfinity RACE thread --- Daytona

Look at the two cars that caused the cautions. Harvick even said that those repairs weren't what would have been done without the five minute rule.

    Xfinity RACE thread --- Daytona

2 cautions directly resulting from five minute rule.

    Xfinity RACE thread --- Daytona

Guessing that caution was a result of the five minute clock.

    The changes have arrived.

That was painful to watch. Like some others, I can't stand the segment cautions counting and being of an arbitrary length. Im giving this a chance, but seriously don't know how long I can stomach it. It really does destroy what a race should be.

    Truck RACE thread --- Daytona

It's like if the clock in a football game counted down during halftime.
