What did you think of the Martinsville call?

Same as Custer and the 41 in 2022.

What did you think of the Martinsville call?

Apologies - I was putting kids to bed and very serious minded!

What did you think of the Martinsville call?

I think he first said he had a tire issue with 3 to go. I think they’ll be able to figure all of that out (just like in 2022 at the Roval when Custer did it).

What did you think of the Martinsville call?

They took the 23 for tear down. I think between that and the telemetry they will know if and when.

What did you think of the Martinsville call?

Based on the rule it doesn't matter if the 24 knows - it only matters if the 24 "encouraged, persuaded, or induced" them to do it.

What did you think of the Martinsville call?

I have thought a lot about this, and I don't think it's as cynical as Nascar thinks this makes the most money so that's why they don't have a highly-structured penalty system for on-track activity. I think there's more to it than that. But I agree that it's time for Nascar to have a clearer...

What did you think of the Martinsville call?

I'm late to this discussion so not sure if it has been posted, but I think with all of this stuff it's important to look at the Nascar rule book and any precedent. Sections 4.3.A; 4.4.C & 5.5 of the NASCAR Rule Book (Member Code of Conduct/Performance Obligation) A: NASCAR requires its...

    The Announcers Thread

Can we just LOL / SMH at the call today during the closing laps? They seemed to completely miss that the Chevys were running a block. Leigh was even saying things like "the 3 and the 1 are right there, can Byron hold them off"? I was just laughing, like how can you not see what's happening here?

We appreciate your transparency - it's important when you're leading or in contention and you're doing it right

NASCAR Pick 'Em 2024 - Charlotte Roval

Thanks PJ! Looks like Ray and I are both on pace to out-do JJ . . . but I'm certainly not going to try for it. I've got some good drivers left and I'm going to run them - although that hasn't mattered a lick to date this year.

NASCAR Pick 'Em 2024 - Charlotte Roval

PJ - do you happen to know what the lowest-point (worst) season for a player that submitted picks for every race is? Is there a Hall of Shame?

Johali's Rate the Cup race -- Talladega

I don’t usually complain about superspeedway races, but one goant pileup and a two-lane push race to the checkers was pretty luke warm. 6

What will Austin Dillon’s penalty be?

    A stern talkin’-to

If NASCAR is serious about intentionally wrecking other drivers...

To me the answer to whether it’s “okay to intentionally wreck someone in Nascar” has always been to grit your teeth and dodge the question - because it really all depends. The thread supposes that Nascar might be “serious about intentionally wrecking other drivers” but I don’t think Nascar has...

Austin Dillon did the right thing

The deal with the 22 was obvious but I think the in-car shows that the contact with the 11 was just two guys racing for the checkered flag on the same space in the track. The 3 has to get below the 22 to get buy him and Denny is coming through on the inside. But Austin basically holds his line...

Austin Dillon did the right thing

Yeah that’s fair -but it’s only non-subjective (i.e. objective) if there’s a clear, bright line rule and not something that requires judgment, an investigation, etc. I know there are rules about intentional wrecking in certain circumstances (such as wrecking a playoff contender to try to knock...

Austin Dillon did the right thing

I just don’t see that Nascar will penalize this. Nascar has long avoided putting itself in a position of having to make subjective referee calls of driver conduct under green. Especially the last turn to the checkers. They don’t want to have to make pass-interference like calls at the end of...
