Couldn't agree more. Smartphones have taken the place of cars in young people's dreams and fantasies. Cars are becoming utilitarian while having the best smartphone is young peoples' focus.

As much grief as we give Brian France (myself included), the networks are the true decision makers in this sport and deserve much of the blame for many of the ill-advised decisions made in the last decade or so.

I experienced the "phantom buzzing" of my phone in my pocket and said eff this. My coworkers make fun of me with my "grandpa" phone but they are standing around addicted to their own personal master. My phone just makes calls and texts and costs $15 brand new if I break it.
