Cup RACE thread --- on dirt, Bristol

Local TV stations do generally get a few slots to sell local advertising during national network programs. But, perhaps the FOX affiliate in Greensboro thought they could make more money from advertising on their local programming. The thing is, Local TV stations pay networks to carry network...

Considering the anticipation surrounding this huge event, every FOX affiliate ought to have aired this race.

Johali's Rate the Cup race --- Bristol, dirt

I'll go with a 9. This race was a lot of fun to watch. The reason I'm not rating it a 10- there was no pit strategy in this race. Hopefully, there will be pit strategy in this race next year.

Cup RACE thread --- on dirt, Bristol

Wow! That's incredibly selfish of your local FOX affiliate. This should've been considered way too major of an event to ignore. I remember being unhappy with my local Dallas-Fort Worth FOX station (actually owned by FOX itself) when they didn't air the virtual TMS race last year. And, that was...

My A starter in the RFFL wins! Meanwhile, none of my other 3 starters finish in the top 20.

I understand this is the first Cup race in more than a half century and teams need extra time to fix/adjust cars, but I'm a bit disappointed there's no pit strategy in this race.

Although I like Larson, watching Suarez pass Larson and cause a bit of damage was hilarious.

Cup RACE thread --- on dirt, Bristol

I'm not very familiar with dirt racing, but I'm very surprised previous dirt experience doesn't seem to matter much in this race.

After giving some thought, I decided against starting Larson. Since he was easily the fan favorite, I figured I could gain an advantage if I picked other drivers and they finished better than Larson. Unfortunately, one of my B starters is Bell, who is now out of the race.

This has been a fun race so far! As much as I enjoy concrete Bristol, I think I enjoy dirt Bristol even more. My fears of dirt making Bristol less fun were unfounded.

2021 Food City Dirt Race Pre Race Thread

Is this supposed to be a dirt race? When was the first picture taken? That's a lot of exposed pavement. Bristol is my favorite track with pavement. I've been worried that it won't be as good with dirt. Maybe I don't need to worry so much after all.

Johali's Rate the Cup race --- Las Vegas

This was a good race. I enjoyed the tight racing that took place until towards the end. I'll go with an 8.5.

Cup RACE thread --- Las Vegas

I got a feeling NASCAR is going to throw debris cautions to keep Kyle Larson from winning, like they did with Kurt Busch a few years ago. I hope I'm wrong.

I thought NASCAR was past the days of throwing phony debris cautions.

Johali's Rate the Cup race --- Homestead

My rating: 8. I enjoyed this race more than the previous two races. I like the multiple grooves.

    Cup RACE thread --- Homestead

My house never lost power or water. However, I spent a couple of nights at a co-worker's apartment during the height of the storm. In addition to rolling blackouts, her apartment complex also lost running water. Rolling blackouts ended a week ago, but as of a couple days ago, she's still without...

I'm glad to hear there are some people who aren't getting side effects. A local architect who owns an architecture forum I'm a part of just got his second shot. He says he got a massive headache and fever from it and had to miss work. I know most of us need to get the vaccine to get the virus...
