    NASCAR Death Bed

I know when they show hockey or football promos they normally include some sort of phenomenal play but the go to for Nascar has been wrecks. There are very few Jarrett-Allison or Craven-Busch type moments to share as promos so the default is wrecks which get people's attention. Nascar preaches...

If you believe that people are not conditioned to think of injuries when there are wrecks between vehicles I am good with it.

Actually the average Joe equates bent sheet metal with injuries.

Interest builds around possible changes to NASCAR schedule

Deep breaths guys as I seriously doubt a lot of the ideas tossed out by Craven and company were meant to be taken seriously. Stories like this are just meant to get the pot lickers and pot stirrers up in arms. Save your wrath for something worthwhile.

    NASCAR Death Bed

I think people should spend their own money as they see fit. If someone wants a FIAT or a Nissan they should get one instead of what NASCAR races. I like M&M’s so I buy them but never thought of buying an interstate battery. If people deliberately chose to purchase products that sponsor nascar...

    NASCAR Death Bed

In my circle I have never known anyone to watch racing to see cars blow up or see drivers get injured or worse but your experience may differ. I will say that prior to the cars becoming more reliable and cars and tracks becoming safer there was an unspoken tension in the air that anything could...

Sheriff Roscoe P Coltrane and Enos are in favor of the tax levy and are excited about the new building.

    Taxpayer Funded Sports Facilities

As long as you don't stop into the local Toyota dealership to lease a nice shiny Tundra or spend the night at the Holiday Inn when in Birmingham I don't think it will cost you a dime.

Holy Cow! Legion Field was a dump in the early 80's when Cliff Stoudt and the Birmingham Stallions of the USFL called it home!

Sports TV ratings, etc. Random sports talk

IDK what the catch rule or concussions have to do with TV ratings but since it was posted I'll take a crack at it. The NFL needs to decide what a catch is and the NHL needs to decide what goalie interference is. As far as the concussion settlement goes the lawyer doing the squawking just wants...

How NASCAR helps teams land (and keep) sponsors

Wow! Nascar attempting to steal sponsors from teams sure doesn't sound like the basis for a trusting relationship. While I don't expect Nascar's mouthpieces to badmouth their employer it is interesting that a lot of the sponsorship problems are being blamed on poor performing retailers. It...

Interest builds around possible changes to NASCAR schedule

If Bruton Smith can stage a football game in Bristol's infield I am confident that someone can can take a track like MIS and turn it into a quasi Bristol north.

Interest builds around possible changes to NASCAR schedule

As much as I would like to see Nascar race short tracks every week I think we need to be careful about placing too much emphasis on them. For sure we need more but I think the average fan is sick and tired of many of the tracks 1 mile and over that it makes short tracks seem like the panacea...

    NASCAR - Television Ratings Thread

I think it would be really good if the ratings can be contained to the losses of the last couple of years but if they remain flat or do a little better it would be outstanding. I don't think that short tracks are the be all and end all (they are for me personally) for the majority it is just...

How NASCAR helps teams land (and keep) sponsors

I forgot about Kraft Foods and the sponsorship of Ryan Newman's 31 car last year. I wonder if they re-upped for 2018 or if they are going to save the couple of thousand they were spending per race.............:XXROFL:

    NASCAR - Television Ratings Thread

I don't think honesty or dishonesty comes into play with Nascar's ratings as they are published for all to see and each person can determine what, if anything, they think they mean. Nascar's ratings and Nascar in general are inherently negative as it is not quite to the point of the undertaker...
