How about NASCAR celebrating Podium finishes?

In my opinion , they only need to hand out one trophy. It would make everyone ..... drivers, crews, owners, and fans happy . Season points winner . Everything else they do is window dressing and not my concern.

How about NASCAR celebrating Podium finishes?

I have been a Nascar fan as long as I can remember . There was never an issue with drivers 'not trying to win ' . They always tried to get the best they could out of their crew , their car and themselves . They did better one week over another . But it wasn't from lack of trying . Other guys had...

I will remember Nascar from the days when championships meant something .

    If Tim Richmond lives...

Man , that was over 30 yrs ago . I remember stuff from then but not really understanding that Tim was that great . I remember he and Dale Sr being great pals , and that was a sign of the respect that Dale had for him . After he got diagnosed , other drivers pretty much stayed away . Like a lot...

    Big changes coming

The man hired Joie Chitwood III to run Daytona International Speedway . Which , I assume , puts the huckster at the center of Nascar planning . I don't think that anything is 'off the table' .

    Anyone watching the Barrett-Jackson auction?

I remember years ago ...we all looked up to you as the hep cat , techie , dude with all the answers ... now look at you ... an old curmudgeon who has the same answer to all the kids questions . Sad Andy , really sad .:(

How about NASCAR celebrating Podium finishes?

Wow , three drivers in a race really tying . Why not honor 5 ? That would make a real race out of it .:(

The thing that seperates NASCAR from other sports

Great onion analogy Matt . Over the years I have been a big fan of several drivers , several crew chiefs , a couple of owners and every make of car . Many new fans don't understand that this is a 'team' sport and there is no possible way for any driver to win a race by himself .

Monster Energy ‘We’re going to bring a party’ to NASCAR

Interesting . If I were MacDonalds or Busweiser , I would offer to bring my customer base to NASCAR if they paid me to be title sponsor! Their bases are much bigger than Monster's.

Monster Energy ‘We’re going to bring a party’ to NASCAR

Haven't the television networks been doing that for years ?

Monster Energy ‘We’re going to bring a party’ to NASCAR

Did not know this . If true , it would be the most short sighted business decision in history . Completely eliminating any future prospect of returning previous pricing for series sponsorship.

Monster Energy ‘We’re going to bring a party’ to NASCAR

Honored to have a Skoal post a picture of himself with my post . And without the hockey mask . Diggin the jacket and tie Skoal.

Monster Energy ‘We’re going to bring a party’ to NASCAR

I love the Monster events and have taken my grandson to several . Just hope they want to promote NASCAR racing and not some new version of Monster Trucks , which personally I think is more of a sideshow than a sport. Really , if NASCAR is that bad , maybe it should be gone .

Monster Energy ‘We’re going to bring a party’ to NASCAR

Probably won't be in our lifetimes , but someday , some ad agency , will come up with a new image of Nascar . A strong sport , proud of itself , confident that it entertains it's fans without the need for hoopla and micro managing . SUNDAY ..SUNDAY...SUNDAY ...COME OUT AND SEE THE GREATEST...

NASCAR is struggling to adapt to a changing sports climate

I have to agree with you Skoal , the past changes have been ineffective and they continue to see further change as a possible solution . HELLO , videos of twenty year old races are more popular than live races . I see nothing to be optimistic about .

    Carl to Nascar

I doubt Nascar wants anybody with Carl's background . More likely they would hire from the figure 8 or demolition derby ranks . If I am right , racing could get worse .

    Carl Edwards retires

After digesting all of this , I agree with whoever said there will be more of this sort of thing . And , I am stunned that it wasn't Junior . He is probably thinking the same thing right now .
