    Cup RACE thread --- Homestead

Welcome Smoovee7 . Normally , any penalties for failing post race inspection are announced the following week . Nascar would never take the win away because the car passed several pre race inspections . Post race inspections would normally reveal things like a loose lug nut , body damage due to...

Jimmie Johnson - SEVEN time NASCAR Sprint Cup Series Champion

In the respect that the system has been recreated to avoid multiple championships , I agree Jimmie and Chad have done something special.

One of the great orators and visionaries of his time

He turned me off when he committed Nascar to support a political candidate . You just don't do that without alienating half your customers . Happy to see him with a Mexican Champion . Thanks Brian.

Top 10 Worst Drivers in Nascar

Too old. Mikey and Kyle Petty are pretty high on my list of drivers I don't like . Not because of what they were as drivers , but what they were like after they retired.

    Bonehead of the week: Homestead

From what I heard , they had no tires left and didn't need fuel . The only reason to pit was to quit . Racers don't do that .

    Bonehead of the week: Homestead

Carl had no other choice . Joey had the short run car , if he got the lead , it was over . No way that was a bonehead move , no way he took himself out . That was great racing , Joey did what he had to do too. He didn't lift .He drove right through him .

Who on here is going to Homestead?

I believe that sponsors in all sports want to be seen in the sport . Sometimes the players are just billboards to them . Winning is a bonus and gives them a bit more of the exposure they are looking for , but it isn't the main thing . A good sponsor will get just as much benefit from having...

Who on here is going to Homestead?

Unfortunately , this sport is very money driven . Owners do better with veteran drivers than kids . They have more consistent finishes , they are easier on equipment , and they are better with sponsors . Kids are way more entertaining , and it's great when one comes along with a sponsor .

Who on here is going to Homestead?

I'm sure it is politically incorrect to ask , but how important is it to people in your area that Suarez won a championship?

    Congrats Johnny Sauter

It's pretty cool really . We can go a whole year talking about the great , fantastic , young guns ...and never mention the old fart that wins the championship. Good for Sauter .
