Nascar just isn't popular with the gereral popualtion

Well, like I said earlier, if it's anything like the TV show iZombie, it's all about violent psychotic breaks and the occasional mass zombification incident.

Nascar just isn't popular with the gereral popualtion

That's kinda the thing about emo, it was more about things like the aesthetic and the idea of "standing apart from society" that appealed, rather than the music, which was just a vessel for the image. And when casual fans realized how self-centered the core fans were, they realized that made...

Nascar just isn't popular with the gereral popualtion

If things pan out like they did on iZombie, psychotic breaks and the occasional mass zombification incident will be the Monster Lifestyle... :p

Nascar just isn't popular with the gereral popualtion

That's dangerous, because then you could end up surrounded by unfavorable people. Y'know, like all the people that liked emo in the mid-2000's until they realized that most of the "hardcore" fans were whiny upper-middle-class teenagers.

I picked the race winner, and still dropped four spots. I'm kinda wishing I'd left Cool Whip and JamieMac in (especially Cool Whip), then I'd still be 18th. Glad I put Keselowski in, though...

They better win it. My bold prediction for 2017 Cup Champ is driving one... ;)

My actives-bench swap stuck. Now I just need to make sure my changes for Vegas stick.

New York couple become NASCAR fans after Daytona 500 experience

Assuming it's open. Mine spent 2016 shut down because of ownership issues. It took them until two weeks ago to finally resolve them.

I recall clicking "Save Roster". Then again, my computer may have crashed in the middle of doing that - it's been on the fritz lately. I just tried swapping some of my actives and bench drivers, it shows me having completed that transaction.

So what is the deadline for swapping out your eight? I tried to swap out some of my actives for completely new people Thursday night (roughly 8pm ET), but when I went back to it tonight I found I still had my original eight from Daytona.

NASCAR, once a cultural icon, hits the skids (WSJ)

While your first three points are pretty much incontrovertible, there has to be a solution to revenue distribution that doesn't involve effectively locking out anyone who isn't already involved. I can't stand for the idea of 36 of the 40 spots being untouchable to a start-up that can't afford...

NASCAR, once a cultural icon, hits the skids (WSJ)

I think it's reasonable to think that it shouldn't happen anywhere, ever. But it will keep happening as long as we allow the economically advantaged to dictate the rules of our society.

When did that ever happen? I must not have seen the part where Tommy Baldwin and Phil Parsons spent 2009-11 riding around in luxury cars while their drivers parked after 30 laps just so they could (barely) get to the track next week, in the slim hope that they might eventually get to run full...

NASCAR, once a cultural icon, hits the skids (WSJ)

The basic economic reality I see is the same one I see in all facets of this society - those who have much taking from those who have little until they have none. As it was, the bottom-rank prize reductions seem to have been an effective enough barrier for so many of the small teams you seem to...

NASCAR, once a cultural icon, hits the skids (WSJ)

My big fear is that the anti-independent crusade will drive NASCAR completely out of business in my lifetime. I've seen first hand what short-sighted business practices can and will do to companies and the individuals they employ. I'll also admit that I'm not fond of change, especially the...

I think that's part of the appeal for would-be team owners. But the Charter system makes it more expensive, or more difficult if you won't or can't pay the expense. (after all, the RTA effectively decides who gets the Charters, NASCAR can only block a sale, and can only force a sale if the team...

There was a Tweet by Lee Spencer mentioning 1.6 million as the figure for the lease. I can't find the Tweet directly because Jayski didn't link to it (only to Spencer's Twitter feed), but if you go this page, you can see the post mentioning the Tweet a few articles down.
