    Ty Gibbs Appreciation Thread

Yea, if you ever wonder where Ty Gibbs get his attitude from, you only have to look at Joe Gibbs. The apple doesn't fall far from the tree.

    Bonehead Watkins Glen

Here's my assumption, and I know what they say about assumptions. This rule was created as a safety measure and to keep things fair when cars are going in and out of their pit boxes and you have a flurry of activity on pit rows between all the teams servicing their cars. The rule protected OTW...

    Ty Gibbs Appreciation Thread

So it's just happenstance that Richard Childress had no issue lining up sponsors for Kyle Busch in the #8. When before that, Joe Gibbs would hem and haw about the struggles of finding sponsorship for Kyle Busch in the #18 after Mars Candy Company left. That doesn't seem suspicious to you?

At the age of 24 has Chase Elliott gained a couple steps?

I posted my thoughts on the r/NASCAR subreddit and I'll post it here as well. This hasn't exactly been a stellar year for Chase. He missed the first 1/3rd of the season due to a snowboarding injury and then he was suspended for one race for intentionally wrecking Denny Hamlin in the Coca Cola...

    SHR will be back

Why, so they can be bottom rung in the Chevy team's pecking order and barely get any scraps? There's a reason LMC is leaving Chevy for Toyota in 2024. I'd have to agree with this. He races other drivers dirty, doors a few of them for the win, but gods forbid if anyone drives him dirty, then...

    Ty Gibbs Appreciation Thread

Whenever I see Ty Gibbs on TV, I just keep thinking back to the villain team in The Mighty Ducks! He look like he would be the star player on The Hawks.

Random NASCAR Stuff to talk about.....

I think I know how to make the NASCAR Championship more palatable to NASCAR fans. It won't make them fall in love with it, but it'll help. 1) Get rid of the Round of 16. Honestly, when was the last time a true Championship contender has been eliminated in the Round of 16? All The Round of 16...

    Ty Gibbs Appreciation Thread

Does he have talent, or is he just someone who won the lottery of a lifetime to be the grandson of a top tier NASCAR Cup team owner? Also, let's not forget that Joe Gibbs completely ****** over Kyle Busch to get his grandson that seat. So the whole tree is rotten IMHO.

    Bonehead Watkins Glen

I would like to see the wording on that rule. I agree that McDowell ****** himself over but I also know how slight change in wording can make a rule completely different. Just like The Fae, NASCAR seems more interested in the wording of the rule, rather than the spirit.

At the age of 24 has Chase Elliott gained a couple steps?

I think both Chase and Bowman are going to see a shake-up in their teams during the off season. It'll be interesting to see what Rick, Jeff and maybe Chad will do to make them competitive for the 2024 season.

What is the point of the sprint race in 2023?

Glad to see NASCAR isn't the only motorsport sanctioning body to double down on ideas that fans don't like.

New "what are you listening to thread"

Right now I'm listening to DJD podcast series "Becoming Earnhardt." As a person who's a history nerd and who loves stock car racing, I've really come to enjoy this series and I hope Dale Jr. does series like this for other historic drivers. I would love a podcast series on Smoky Yunick.

    2023 Spring/Summer Weather Thread

Every year Summer gets hotter and hotter and every year I hate it more and more. Even moving up North doesn't do anything because I went to Spokane in 2022 to visit a now ex in July. Let me tell you something, dry heat is still heat! Y'all are literally talking about the difference between a...

Yes, this really answers my legit question.

    Ty Gibbs Appreciation Thread

A Ty Gibbs appreciation thread. He has qualities worth appreciating? He's literally the silver spoon Disney villain in every sport movie. Except unlike the movies, Ty Gibbs won't see the error of his way and helps the young and scrappy driver of a small team win the championship, he'll just...

    Daytona Speedway 2 Pre-Race Thread

Ah yes, a lottery race as the final race of the regular season to add that last bit of artificial drama before The Playoff.

    Bonehead Watkins Glen

Honestly, it's a tie between McDowell for entering too many boxes on his way to his pit stall and Alan Gustafson flubbing the fuel call. I don't know if Chase had the car to win at the Glen, but they were making moves and working their way up to the front. McDowell had the car to win at the...

What is the point of the sprint race in 2023?

In 2021, FIA introduced sprint racing to Formula 1, a 100km race that would set the grid for the Grand Prix on Sunday. As someone who is a huge fan of stock car racing and dirt racing this made sense to me. You have qualifying to set the grid for the sprint race (or heat race in dirt racing...

Post 2022 Gen 7 Car Upgrades

Seems like getting rid of the diffuser and using a different style of tire seems to be the right way to go. I dunno how open Goodyear is to testing different compound for the short track package, but it's an interesting thought.

Post 2022 Gen 7 Car Upgrades

I'm honestly not surprised by this. The aero changes is just a band-aid to cover up the fact that maybe NASCAR made an oopsie poopsie with the tires. I'm sure NASCAR will never do this, but they should bring out a couple of sets of 15in tires for each car and just see how the NextGen car...
