Would you rather the old way or the chase playoffs?

Yea, but auto racing isn't a stick and ball sport. It's 30+ drivers competing week in and week out against each other on the same surface for a chance to win one event. That's like saying the NFL should have all the teams compete week in and week out on the same field, it's apple to oranges...

Would you rather the old way or the chase playoffs?

Old way, but that's not coming back anytime soon.

    Bonehead of the week: Nashville

Yea, those prior drivers also had concussions, but it wasn't taken as seriously as it is today. Concussions and CTE is very serious business. You have examples of the worse of it from other sports and professions. You have Muhammad Ali with his brain damage after a lifetime of boxing. You...

    Bonehead of the week: Nashville

Agreed 100% The fact that the SAFER barrier has been around since 2002 and they still haven't put it on all the walls at the tracks they go to is really inexcusable. At least NASCAR gave the NextGen car crumple zones in the front and rear. Could you imagine that hit with the 2022 car?

    The Announcers Thread

I actually enjoyed the announcers last night. They were professional, they kept the commenting focused on the action on the track, and there wasn't too much cutting up and joking around. I could get used to this.

    The Announcers Thread

Okay, who are the people watching golf? Seriously every time I tried to watch it, I end up falling asleep. The announcers do better ASMR than most Twitch streamers.

Johali's Rate the Cup race --- Nashville

I only got to watch the first two stages before I had to go to bed. But from what I saw, I thought it was a decent race. About a 6 or 7.

    Nashville Ally 400 Pre-Race Thread

I usually tune in right when they give the command. Always give me shivers when they say "Drivers, start your engine" and all the hotrods fire off.

Post 2022 Gen 7 Car Upgrades

The wider tire is also the issue with short tracks. Mechanical grip is an issue as well as aero. IMHO they should bring back narrower tires.

    Nashville Ally 400 Pre-Race Thread

The only thing I have to say about the NBC broadcast right now is that it is annoying how often they bring up The Chase. "Oh this will have great implication for The Chase! This is how The Chase grid breaks down as of right now!" Meanwhile we're still 9 races away from the beginning of The...

    Joe Gibbs Racing News

I'm going to laugh if this means Ty Gibbs will actually have to perform instead of counting on Grandpappy to keep him in a ride.

    2024 NASCAR Schedules

I mean, WoO at Bristol is great, I went there last year and I had a blast. Loved watching the Late Models and Sprint Car battled it out on the high banked dirt.

    2024 NASCAR Schedules

I don't think Bristol dirt is coming back in 2024, which I'm fine with. When you don't have purposely built dirt cars race on dirt, it's kind of a cluster****.

The End of the Camaro, Revman's prayers have been answered lol.

One thing I do like about the NextGen car is that they removed the side force. So drivers just couldn't lean on aero to get around the turns. Honestly I think if they go back to narrower tires and unleash the Cup engines, they may have something that'll rival Gen4 in terms of handling.

The End of the Camaro, Revman's prayers have been answered lol.

I think that's the point @Formerjackman is making. The cars should be hard to drive and get around the track so that it's a true test of a driver's ability.

Has Ross Chastain (at age 30) lost a step?

Yea, it's not like this sport doesn't have a venerated driver who's whole personality was The Intimidator nor drove a black car because it was extra spooky. I'm sure that same driver didn't say **** like "I only meant to rattle his cage!" Nope, NASCAR truly is a gentleman's racing series.

    Dirt Late Models 2023

I wonder how they arrived at the conclusion to ban smart watches and issue new radio receivers. I know they can catch stuff on cars through tech, but I don't know how they catch stuff on drivers. I've seen the sticks at Carolina Speedway, always wondered how helpful they were for some of the...
