have's and have nots too predictable

It’s always been about having a faster car...and a driver who could take advantage of that speed.

    Current Drivers HOF Chances

No offence, but that makes no sense whatsoever...Wins are wins, period. IMO it doesn’t matter what series they are in. If Hornaday gets in with truck wins, then so be it. Performance across all series should be AND ARE taken into account. Being inducted into HOF is a once in a lifetime deal...

    Current Drivers HOF Chances

I mentioned this when Carl Edwards retired...keep in mind that it is the NASCAR HOF, not the Cup series HOF. Guys like Brad, Denny, Truex and Joey should be locks because of what they’ve accomplished across ALL 3 national series. It’s the same reason why imo Biffle and Edwards are absolutely...

Bonehead of the week: Las Vegas

Damn, I just about spit up laughing when I read that. Funny stuff, thanks for sharing.

    Atlanta RACE thread

You’re patting yourself on the back after he’s had all of 2 points races in the new ZL1, with a blown tire and a plate race big one??? I for one will be waiting to see how he performs at tracks like Fontana, Dover and Martinsville before I write off “ole 7 time”.

Dale Jr. vs Steve Odonnell on Stenhouse Jr. Penalty

Move the yellow line to the edge of the grass...problem solved. A pointless rule, with terribly inconsistent enforcement.

how many wins for the hendrick group?

I think it will take them at least 10-15 races to get a handle on the new car. Having said that, I still believe they can get anywhere from 6-10 wins on the year. Jimmie 5 Chase 2 Byron 1 Bowman 0

Ford Performance will be under new leadership in 2018

Yep, hence my comments. It’s worked for them up to this point...Although the landscape may be shifting, like other sports; the emphasis on drafting/developing cost controlled talent in house has never been more at a premium. Parity will do that.

Ford Performance will be under new leadership in 2018

Just based on the more recent years, if you are considering names like Casey Mears, Mark Martin, Dale Jr, Kasey Kahne, Alex Bowman or even William Byron as drivers HMS “developed”, then I just can’t agree...I could make an argument that outside of Chase Elliott, HMS has not made a significant...

Ford Performance will be under new leadership in 2018

Chevy/HMS have run their development program like the Yankees...let the other teams draft and develop, then outbid on the talent that pans out... Why waste time/money on cultivating an asset, when you can let other teams do it for you and then procure said asset with more lucrative...

    Dodge?

My understanding of the situation was that Penske did initiate the switch...Ford had been courting them for a while and Dodge was only willing to re-up on a 3 year deal, but Penske was looking for a 10 year commitment on any new manufacturer deal...Penske moved on with Ford and it left Dodge...

    The Purpose of the Manufacturers

I think the Cup series still provides a viable marketing platform for all manufacturers to drives sales...If they were to leave, it would absolutely destroy the France family's/NASCAR business model.

    SILLY SEASON 2018

Kahne to the LFR 95 is a good fit. It could elevate that team to another level. It also could backfire and show everyone that he's finished. I suspect he will do better than McDowell, however I also think he's visited victory lane for the last time.

Adam Stevens vs #78 Pit Crew

My 2 cents is these suspensions are total BS. Suspend them all or let bygones be bygones and move on like adults. Speaking as someone who is a senior mgr in a major national company; if I or any one of my fellow senior mgrs ever get in the face of someone "on the bottom of the totem pole"...

penske inks brad k wolfe 2 to 2 year

Great pairing, but I've soured a bit on Wolfe lately...a lot of his "great" calls have been gambles and fuel mileage plays made possible only by a truly great driver. Make no mistake, Brad K is one of the very best drivers of this era. Sure fire HOF imo, and the straw that stirs that drink.

Adam Stevens vs #78 Pit Crew

I'd expect nothing less from you Rev ;)...I just don't see the payoff. If the 18 team is going to win the championship this year, they could use some help from the 78. No use in fighting if you ask me

Adam Stevens vs #78 Pit Crew

Fair enough, context is everything. Perhaps I missed the full story. Still though...you won't catch Chad getting in some tire guy's face like that. He's way above that. I think it says something about where the 18 team is at that Stevens would even get caught up in that. Waste of energy imo

Adam Stevens vs #78 Pit Crew

What was Stevens trying to accomplish? The 78 team has been dominant for a while now, he looks like a joke going down there trying chew out the pit guys. I can just see Cole Pearn's sly smirk when he saw this.

Larson: 'NASCAR's kept a closer eye on our team

When you run up front week in and week out they tend to look a little closer. 42 team has the speed, but 78 team has been executing much better. The stage wins will be huge come the Chase
