    NASCAR media members--good and bad

Absolute favorite is Dave Moody. I was lukewarm when I started listening to him, but now I think he not only has the best show on the channel, but the best in all of radio. I have one strongly disliked. I can't listen to Claire B. Her questions are pedestrian at best "How does the win...

Of all the cars you've owned...

My first, '79 Camaro RS. I sold it in college because it needed work and I wanted a newer car.

    Darlington Hotels

We stay in Columbia about 50 minutes from the track to the west. I think we paid around $75 per night for Saturday and Sunday.

    Coca-Cola 600 Ticket Package Help

My wife and I work with the Georgia English Bulldog Rescue and one of our volunteers received as a donation a nice ticket package for the 600. The plan is to sell/auction it to raise money for the rescue which is a 501(c)3 non-profit. Last year we took in 75 Bulldogs with our vet costs...

    About shaving, FYI

Sam's Club stopped selling Fusion blades last time I needed some. They had their brand, Member's Mark, 6 blade 17 pack for around $25. I figured if they weren't any good my wife could use them. They are as good as the Fusion at 1/3 the price.

    Green tires..

I don't mind NASCAR trying things in this race. No matter what tires they tried nobody was going to pass the leader at Charlotte in short runs

Rate The Races: Cup Open And The All-Star race

Didn't see the open. All Star was a 0 for me and would be a negative if I could go lower. 70 laps of pretty much follow the leader.

    Rate The Race: Kansas I

    9. Last night was a lot like "the old days" with the single car spins. Making the cars tougher to drive showcases the drivers' skills. If NASCAR can make all the 1.5 milers that interesting they might have hit on something.

    Fanatics Tent

I much prefer the tent for a few reasons. We usually pick up a track/event hat at each race we go. My wife and I are high level OCD when it comes to our hats. We'll go through every one to find the best. At the tent we can do that, at a trailer they hand you one and get you moving. We also...

    2017 Talladega - GEICO 500 - Pre Race Thread

I was lucky I'm that she's a huge sports fan. I half joke that I married her for her memorabilia collection. She enjoyed her first race, but she really got hooked when we rented intercoms and a scanner for the second one.

    2017 Talladega - GEICO 500 - Pre Race Thread

I took my wife to her first race at Darlington in 2015. She grew up loving jet fighters and air shows and went to Michigan for Aerospace Engineering. The first time the field came by under green she was hooked. She's always wanted to go the Kentucky Derby when it fell on her birthday, this...

    Rate The Race: Bristol l

    10. Even with the lack of passing for the lead early, there's was plenty of great racing throughout the pack.

i miss nascar winston cup scene

My dad and I had a subscription when I was a kid. I'm sure most of them were discarded, but I found one in a box when I moved. It was during Harry Gant's 4 September wins in 1991.

What races are you planning to attend?

Have four on the calendar this year. Atlanta, both Talladegas and Darlington.

2017 NASCAR Season - Television Ratings Thread

Is there another sport's fan base that is so hung up on attendance and television ratings? I don't ever recall watching a baseball game then waiting for the overnight ratings to come out. If you like the sport, watch and enjoy. If you don't, don't.

    Race pics and experiences

We made our way to Atlanta for the first time last weekend. Overall, good experience. We got to the track around 11:00am and headed to the fan experience to see Kyle Larson, who's my wife's favorite, do a Q&A. Afterwards, she weaseled her way to the front and was able to get her 42 hat signed...

    Rate The Race: Atlanta

    8. I was in attendance and there was a lot of action other than Harvick. Not sure how much of it Fox showed.

RE1000 scanner - anybody have any experience?

I'm on the verge of getting a package. My wife and I have been renting the RE intercom system and scanner for the races we've attended. This year we're going to 4 races so it's time to buy versus $70 weekend rental. We know we're getting the Gemini-5 intercom system, still trying to decide...

    Race pics and experiences

Thanks. We decided to go with the start/finish seats, row 41. We figured if we don't like them we'll try the other seats next year. Plus, having never been there it will give us a chance to scope out different seat locations.
