NASCAR To Convert California Into Short Track

Had to wrestle with the thought that Cali was actually a pretty good Intermediate track especially the last 10 years, but this new design looks epic. Year-round warm climate, half-mile short track LETS GO. My only thing is NASCAR is about to spend 200 million for this when Irwindale is 45...

    VALLEYSTAR CREDIT UNION 300 CANCELED

Capacity at Dillon or Florence would be less than what the Valley Star draws but the governor of SC luckily has no vendetta against racing... and with Myrtle Beach gone these LLM & LMSC guys need a big-money end-of-year event... Just an idea.

    Florence Motor Speedway "Grand Re-opening"

My friends and I plan on making the trek from the coast to check this place out. It's the same group that ran events at Myrtle Beach so I imagine a lot of the same drivers will be there. I've never been to FMS before. Their "re-opener" is the Friday night before Darlington weekend. I imagine...

    VALLEYSTAR CREDIT UNION 300 CANCELED

Of all the events that could have achieved social distancing guidelines this was the one.. 8 thousand people in a venue that seats just about 40k that is 20% capacity. Meanwhile damn near a capacity crowd at Lakeview tonight... Move the event to Dillon or Florence Motor Speedway and we just...

Updated 2020 Schedule Thru June 21

I figured like in year's past TV broadcast would jump on the mod race since it was originally scheduled to be the preliminary to CUP. Didn't know the Sherriff shut DAHN FMS... Anyways, the radar looks like it's all going north of Darlington/Peedee region, we'll get Xfinity in tonight, I'm...

No rules against gatherings in South Carolina. Just look at the beaches. We had a biker rally Saturday with easily over 1,500 people. Short tracks already running with fans social distancing encouraged. MBS will close at year's end.

Interest builds around possible changes to NASCAR schedule

Interest builds around possible changes to NASCAR schedule

If said "stadium" isn't this, it's going to be an expensive mess trying to install a temporary slab of asphalt around any other field... unless we're racing at Lambeau or Gillette stadium I don't see the point.

Do other area tracks benefit from a track's closure?

With Myrtle Beach Speedway potentially gone in the name of progress. Does that benefit tracks like Dillon, Carteret County & Florence (SC)? A track like MBS consistently draws decent car counts. I wonder how some track closures might have benefited, or been detrimental to other venues around the...
