First Memories Of Watching Cup Series

1979 Daytona 500 was the first race where I watched most of the race. I have flashes of seeing the 21 David Pearson car in the mid 70s. I watched ABCs Wide World of Sports a lot and I probably caught a glimpse if aa fe races. Pearson was fairly dominant at the time.

Kyle larson is robby gordon 2.0

Down to 19th in the points. If you had told me two weeks ago that after Richmond, Paul Menard would be ahead of Kyle Larson in the points, I would have said lay off the pipe.

Kyle larson is robby gordon 2.0

He's way more laid back personality wise. I agree he's overly aggressive and hard on his equipment. He may be more talented than Robby, though. He just needs to be a little cooler on the track, like he is off it.

    Ryan Blaney

He was terrible at RIR. It was if he switched not just sponsor, but Driver and car with Menard. There must have been some issue with the car.

    Cup RACE thread --- Richmond

Second straight top 10 for Menard. Normally, nothing to write home about but he's moved up 5 positions in the standings and he normally sucks at RIR.

    2019 Clash RACE thread

I'm a Menard fan. It was boring to watch all that single car racing, but, at the same time, it was cool to see him lead a ton of laps. I was praying for rain and it did come, I just wish he saw that run by the 48 coming. Once Jimmie, got to the inside, Paul was toast. It did look like...

    SILLY SEASON 2019

I think it was about sponsor $$ for Stewart Haas, not Gibbs (the Preacher). Gibbs probably wanted better performance. With Truex, Gibbs gets proven performance plus adequate sponsorship $$. Stewart Haas has had to partially fund multiple cars with Haas Automation splashed on the hood. Now...

    SILLY SEASON 2019

Yeah, picking Suarez had to be all about sponsor $$. He was very mediocre in the 19 car. Some are saying he'll be like Logano and pick up his performance substantially after leaving JGR, but I have my doubts. Logano basically skipped the Busch/Nationwide/Xfinity Series and was only 19 when he...

    Cup RACE thread --- Kansas

Paul Menard had an awesome run going. Bayne ran into him as he left his pit during stage 2. Shame.
