Unpopular take: These throwbacks are getting ridiculous. They used to be related to the car or driver or sponsor, now they just throwback to anything they want totally unrelated to anything for the team, driver, sponsor, car #. They need to try harder.

NASCAR did penalize them and the penalty for breaking that rule is starting at the end of the longest line for "pitting outside the box" which any team would rather over a 2 lap penalty and loss of 2 crew members next week.
