Seems to me there was a spring 'dega race in the early 90s that tried PPV also.

I was thinking early 70s when they cut the schedule down to 15 (x2) tracks. Should have been easier to do.

Each car manufacturer is putting $75-100mil a year into their Nascar program. Why...WHY would Nascar want to interfere with what car model they market off that involvement???

and both those problems are much more likely to happen than rain this time of year.

It's a track sponsorship. Nascar isn't going to turn down +1mil sanction fee to keep all of its series sponsors happy.

I've been following pro racing since the mid 70s. I can't recall Roger Penske ever lying.

It happens every couple of years or so. In this case it was probably Champion appearance money and #2 led the most laps too.

Somebody is going to be very embarrassed if it just comes back from the dry cleaners. ;)

Health & expense. Race worker from late 70s to early 90s at N Cal tracks, kind of get bored just sitting in the stands. Went to the Sonoma Cup races in late 90s because I got free tickets through work. Only went on Sunday and was bored with only one race per day. I'm a road racer at heart...

No, you can only own (be entrant) up to TWO cars for owners points MONEY. As far as I can recall Childress is only one who has forfeited the money for a 3rd car by putting his name on all his cars.

No hate the Chase in Cup, and the new points system, it would be even worse in NW where some drivers don't get points.
