That's because the charter system made it so it wasn't economically feasible to run as an open car. It's been said even if you win a race, outside of daytona, it's possible you would still end up losing money as a open team

Anyone else listening to the new season? I think the loss of TJ, Brett and Casey really hurt this podcast. Tommy is a good addition, but IMO he doesn't bring enough to replace both TJ and Brett. Seems like this show is missing another personality, but I can't come up with who I think would...
