Interest builds around possible changes to NASCAR schedule

So because Chicago didn't crack the top 10 most dangerous cities, means that it's not a dangerous city? https://www.nbcchicago.com/news/local/2021-ends-as-chicagos-deadliest-year-in-a-quarter-century/2719307/ "Chicago, as it has in previous years, ended 2021 with more homicides than any other...

    NASCAR - Television Ratings Thread

Some good info here that should help answer at least some of your questions https://www.hollywoodreporter.com/tv/tv-news/tv-ratings-explained-a-guide-what-data-all-means-1245591/ The system isn't perfect but it's the most trusted way to do it (as of now). It's flawed though, for sure.

Interest builds around possible changes to NASCAR schedule

Well first of all, the PNW also has horrible crime/homicide as well and nut much in car culture but granted it is more then nothing which Chicago has. As for why NASCAR would want to do a Chicago street course (and I'm not saying I love the idea or agree with it) is to bring the product...

my initial thought as well. good to see the increase for trucks (just wish more people showed up), and a solid number for the SRX

    2022 Camping World Truck Series

this is exactly what NASCAR needs, I'm quite frankly surprised they don't already have one. I hope they adopt that for next year.

    2022 Camping World Truck Series

Not BS at all. Indycar's safety crew is the best on the planet, and it's because we have the same crew of guys who work every single event and know every driver and their previous injury history compared to NASCAR who just had local guys do it each race. Current NASCAR drivers have commented on...

Interest builds around possible changes to NASCAR schedule

I've attended an Indycar race at Portland... and while the track itself is somewhat intriguing, the surrounding area is not at all. (At least when I went) it was incredibly dirty and made me not to want travel to Portland ever again. Also the track facilities are kind of bare bones, with just...

Interest builds around possible changes to NASCAR schedule

Yea the July 4th date also worked really well as well last year for them at RA. The weekend attendance was tremendous. Like I mentioned in an earlier comment, I'm open to a Chicago street course as well.... but not at the expense of RA. RA is just too brilliant of a track with a huge fanbase...

Interest builds around possible changes to NASCAR schedule

If NASCAR was to drop a road course to add the proposed Chicago street course I'd vote for the removal of Sonoma. It was once one of my favorites but the last couple years the racing hasn't been brilliant there. RA is in my opinion the best place to watch a race. I'm heading up there this...

    NASCAR - Television Ratings Thread

People don't tend to think of going to USA network to find sports. So the casual sports fan bored on a Sunday may find and watch a NASCAR race if it was on NBC... but I doubt many would think to themselves "hey let's go check out USA". The most recent Indycar race on USA was absolutely horrific...

    '21 Generation 7 Car news

I wouldn't be the right guy to answer for that, but my guess would be no. The same question is being asked on the Indycar side too with our hybrid system set to start in 2024 and how that would work at Indy where its pretty much full throttle and rarely use the brakes.

Clint Bowyer allegedly hit and killed a woman

Oh my goodness... that's horrific to hear. I feel terrible for Clint to have experienced that, sounds like it wasn't his fault at all... but he'll still have to live with it.

I'm by no means a technical expert. But what I believe to be correct is that similar to the hybrid systems you see running in WEC and F1 when you brake the system captures that energy and stores it in the batteries. So without braking you would run out of juice.

Should NASCAR run Sunday night races in the summer?

I voted "not sure". I voted that way because while it works great for NFL, NBA and the MLB, those are all towns with a base of those fans. NASCAR and auto racing is more unique in the sense that many fans travel 4+ hours to attend a race for a particular weekend. And those fans obviously would...

    NEW 2022 gas prices

Live in Ankeny, IA (a Des Moines suburb) and this morning I paid $4.67 a gallon. That's the most I've ever paid within the state of Iowa. The good news is, the increase seems to have leveled off, or slowed down. Let's hope that is the case. PS: thanks for the new thread. I read the old one...

Where did you come up with $7500 average payout? But regardless, no I didn't say the purse was good. I said I hope it goes up. But what I did say was good is that the purses have been going up.
