The 1964 Indy 500: Dave McDonald & Eddie Sachs

http://www.davemacdonald.net/gallery/racing/indySD.htm The 1964 Indy 500: Dave McDonald & Eddie Sachs Note: The link provides many photos of Dave McDonald and the lead up to the tragic events. IMO, the images are not graphic, but it covers the lead up, to it all going wrong. It covers Jim...

    Mike Eddy

Drivers like Mike Eddy, Bob Senneker, and Dick Trickle (before his Nascar days) were good enough to be Nascar HoF nominees if not actually voted in as members. They just did most of their racing in a different series, that wasn't part of the Nascar brand. I get that Nascar is a business with...

Who was Better in their prime? Petty or Pearson?

If you wanted someone who almost never made a mistake or missed an opportunity, David Peearson was the GOAT. He was flawless. If you wanted the best ambassador the sport has ever had, it was Richard Petty. He was a positive force back when it was needed most. There is also the workhorse...

    Hendrick Motorsport News

I like seeing racers doing the double. The goal to do the almost impossibile is a great thing imo. I just wish the 500 was still an always Monday Memorial day event to make the logistics a little easier.

    See any good movies lately?

Denzel Washington walking into the room full of gangsters with $9800 to try and buy the girls freedom back is great stuff. He can play both the badass and the genuine sincere type. He might be my favorite actor.

What is your promote, keep, drop line?

It should not be possibile to win the race and lose points to anyone else. I appreciate some bonuses for winning stages, etc, but they should never exceed or even equal the total number of points the winner will recieve.

    2025 109th Running of the Indianapolis 500

Seems like they should be finding more of the illegal stuff while going through the prerace tech. They have almost 48 hours from the final practice until the green flag to get it done.

They are going to have a disaster in the future at the pit road entrance if the don't stop snaking toward it off of turn four.

If this was Nascar Dixon would have already waved around back to the lead lap.

    2025 109th Running of the Indianapolis 500

Great race cars etc, but maybe the damp weather caused just enough of an upset condition to create the insainity.

At least they could see the flame on Rossi's car. I remember a Rick Mears pit stop years ago with crew members on fire and no one could see the flame to extenguish it.

    2025 109th Running of the Indianapolis 500

I am a Larson fan but I hope they don't. There are people who are still suffering over last year's waiver. I do not want to see the crying documentaries for the next twenty years over the unbearable atrocity.

New "what are you listening to thread"

Some of the first stuff I remember from listening to music with my dad was songs like this one. He would get the music magizines and I remember seeing the lyrics to "if I had a hammer" and some CCR stuff too. " Leaving on a Jet Plane" will almost always make me think about John Denver. He was a...
