    Silly Season 2025

Saw it coming from 2134 miles away. Haas did not want, nor could he expend the time necessary to handle the elephant (Nascar) while trying to negotiate his open wheel stuff. This makes sense, especially with his business ties to a certain manufacturer that wants to maintain the same presence...

Johali's Rate the Cup race --- Gateway

7... finish made it interesting. Too many questions that I have as to the coming and going of various teams.

Could not find the race... but guess it was not that good. Two interesting finishes, de Lara and Fenhaus. Kind of upset I could not find it.

    Stewart-Haas Racing

Have not talked to Gene in ten years since I retired. When I did, all he wanted to talk about was open wheel stuff. The Thursday before the Fontana race back in '98 Gene was at the NASCAR open house held at the Vermeer dealership across from the entrance on 4th street in Fontana, there was a...

    Cup RACE thread --- 600

Missed the whole 1st stage because the channel thought it more important to put a talking head on to discuss the storm. Nothing you can do about the storm, why not just a banner across the top of the TV or a small box in the corner? They repeated themselves a million times as if it would get rid...

Me bad, I meant Gene. Carl passed away years ago. Back in the 1970's and early '80's I was an engineer specializing in power automation and Gene had a machine shop in the central valley. I represented Kearney and Trecker... nothing that Carl would have to do with. I am old and mix things up...

    Stewart-Haas Racing

I was definitely aware, have known him since 1979 when he owned a small machine shop. I was a sales engineer for Kearney Trecker that was trying to interpolate the GE 550 CNC controller onto multi head mills. Carl was interested in using the GE 550 controller on his own stuff but needed us to...

Random NASCAR Stuff to talk about.....

I found it a bore and fan inhibitive. Liked Road America much better.

Believe there is a confluence of interests that mirror each other in the sense that the two major parties of the team have divergent visions. Haas has made it known for decades that is first love was Indy cars, but unfortunately Indy car went downhill starting in the late '80's-early '90's with...

Johali's Rate the Cup race --- All-Star race

6... the track is better than it used to be back in the day. That progressive banking seems to help. Much better track for Super Late Models... trucks were better than the cup I think. But I always think the trucks are better.

Anyone know what happened to Majeski? He was faster than the 11 then went backwards towards the end of stage 2

9... it they would get rid of the tire/wheel combination it would have been 9.5

So the fastest car won...who would have thought. Kind of thought Brad was sand bagging at times. Like towards the end of stage 1, he was 4 seconds behind second place with 4 laps to go and ended up, side by side at the green checkered.

    Cup RACE thread --- Darlington

How can they think this tire/wheel combination is any good. Totally wreck the entire stage because flat tires and in ability to get off the track. How open wheel of them. What next? Crew has to wear skirts?

    Cup RACE thread --- Darlington

How come they did not show the race for second at the end of stage 1? From what little I could see it should have been almost a photo finish.
