When the toy is no longer shiny

    Championship Fatigue...

I actually saw your post earlier this morning and it well typed out. At least with Johnson, he had some battles with Gordon, Hamlin, Harvick, Edwards, Kenseth over the course of his reign, and eventually Keselowski dethroned him. So, while the 48 was dominating, it was always different...

    Championship Fatigue...

Has set in. Between Kyle Busch (5/6), Kevin Harvick, (5/6) and Martin Truex (4/6), it is becoming the same thing each year, with Denny Hamlin and Joey Logano becoming interchangeable, too. The intensity is not where it once was and the other competition has slowly stopped racing to the point...

I'm not picking a side, but a case could be mad . This team has never contended for a lead lap finish and was 23 mph off in practice. Once again, I am not making a case for either, but I could see that side.

    Daytona RACE thread

Fun fact: I tweeted this to Gluck on Twitter. The 77 only competed in one practice during the weekend. In that practice, they were SIX seconds slower than the leaders.

It may take a literal hurricane to call this race. I feel like this would be a PR nightmare, in NASCAR's eye .

Yep. Funny how the narrative changed from "when the rains come, it's over" to "just a small shower, nothing major" after Justin Haley took the lead.

Serious question: Would the 77 car make the owners playoffs? Is that a thing?
