    2026 Silly Season

176 stores isn't much in the convenience store business. There are over 14,000 Circle K and 13,000 7-Eleven. Hell, there are 650 Loves, 800 Pilot / Flying J, and 1500 Wawa. And those are just the companies I came up with off the top of my head. Every one of them sell Monster; Herbst doesn’t...

Enough Is Enough Full Season Championship.

I don't see how expanding the final four to six will help anything, other than giving the Gerbils two more cars to obsess over. The problem isn't the number of cars involved, it's the 'single race / winner take all' format. Indeed, the more cars eligible, the less like a season-dominating...

Enough Is Enough Full Season Championship.

Everything Jeff said after the 0:20 mark is about the original decision to implement the playoffs. Notice everything he says after that point uses the past tense. I don't think anything he said relates to the current situation, at least not in the quoted 1-minute segment. He may have...

By my count, five street courses, five road courses, six ovals. I wonder how Roger feels about playing second fiddle to NASCAR at Phoenix?

Oh, wait, I forgot F1 is moving to a streaming service I don't get, and its presence isn't enough to motivate me to sign up.

Kinds sad that people have nothing better to do.

    WEC 2025

Damn, excluding I500 and (maybe) F1, there isn't a series on the planet that wouldn't be ecstatic with 110K weekend attendance. Hell, there are plenty of stick-and-ball that would be delighted with that number.

I was surprised to learn Mark Martin was into some of the edgier rap.

No, there are at least two other members lately who have been posting supposedly satirical content. That's great if everyone knows which sources are legit, but in some cases I suspect the posters themselves believe what they just slapped up.

I'd start a 'Satirical Re-posts and Memes' thread but I suspect this type of content would still be posted elsewhere.

Thank you for reminding me to verify before considering. I'm a bit down on myself for not doing so, especially after I just questioned the 'RCR to Dodge' post.

    Cup RACE thread ---- Bristol

You know you're getting old when you look at the drivers' intro music selections, you recognize only 17 of the artists by name, know only two of the tunes, one of those is a cover of a decades-old song, and the other is a sponsor's ad. Now excuse me, please, I have to drink my Metamucil...

    The Announcers Thread

It's the same business model as the cable and satellite companies, and the cable premium channels. It's still content provision, just over a different medium. I don't know why anyone would have expected streaming services to behave differently in the long run.
