I was never bothered by what you described or when the championship was won with a few races left. I liked it better than the lottery system today. This my personal preference and I understand that others think differently.

I don’t recall any fans clamoring for the playoffs or the CoT. In fact it could be argued that those 2 things are responsible for many fans exiting the series.

I’d rather be lucky than good any day. Joey was fortunate to make it to the current round but he’s just as deserving of a final 4 berth than anyone. I don’t care for the playoffs or lottery championship but I respect those that do.

I was surprised when I read that 23XI and FRM’s charters will be put back in inventory at season’s end. Like you said this could be the end of FRM & 23XI will be leaving a lot of the purse on the table. Maybe this is NASCAR dropping the hammer or a negotiation ploy or both.

I can’t imagine any team let alone a playoff team trying to sneak through a 17 pounds lighter car. I think something happened to the car when Alex did the Evel Knievel thing.
