I recorded the race but have not watched it and based on your rating and others I’m not going to. Even the fans that normally rate each race a 9 or 10 didn’t show up.

I’m with you as I would prefer a point system like a modified Latford scale or something that rewarded the drivers that performed best over the season. I can hold my nose and overlook a lot of the gimmicks but this lottery championship is for the birds in my opinion.

There are all sorts of NASCAR fans and there is room under the tent for us all. The type of fan you are is a personal choice. I’ll admit I don’t understand your fandom but it doesn’t make your choice any less valid than anyone else’s.

The manufacturer started losing relevance for me in the late 80’s. All I see today are cars that are pretty much spec so I can’t find a reason to be invested. It’s certainly different from rivalries between Dale & Bill or Dale & Rusty.

I agree. I think what @LewTheShoe proposed would lead to other types of manipulation so you would just be trading one set of problems for another.
