The southern 500 was labor day weekend, people are out at BBQs not home watching tv.

Track attendance yes, but TV can pull a good crowd on a Wednesday night, not as much as a Sunday, but they are against much smaller numbers on a Wednesday.

It really is amazing when you compare him to others he raced most of his career against like Gordon, stewart, Johnson, now Busch all fell off at Hamlin's age. Harvick lasted a bit longer but his last year or two were subpar as well but hamlin is still winning.

I can't stand hamlin and root against him every weekend, but I still want him out there so my guys can beat him and there is certainly no denying his talent as one of the best drivers on the track.
