It says more people are dumping cable/satellite than what we previously thought. NASCAR was dumb to sign a TV deal where most races are on cable.

NASCAR and the tracks are relying on TV deals instead of butts in the seats. This means they need people to watch to continue to increase the money they get from TV. That isn't happening. TV ratings are declining. As long as that happens, Fox, NBC, ESPN, or whoever can ask for less money...

This is the equivalent to Patrick Mahomes playing in a flag football league during the off-season. It's not a competitor to the NFL and the NFL will not prohibit him from playing. The team might, but the league will not.

Channel flipping, yes. I'm less likely to do it. But I record the races in the fall and watch them later in the evening. I skip through all commercials and some race action when things get strung out or they do "through the field" updates.

All good points, especially the Chase Elliott boring comment. I was near him at one of the dirt late model races at Bristol and he was just there. Talked some, not a lot. Didn't kid around. Seems like all he wants to do is drive a race car and not much else, maybe fishing or something else low-key.

Another down week for NASCAR Cup Series.

I felt like Denny was in the wrong for wrecking Gibbs. At the time, the race wasn't even at the halfway mark. Had this played out late in the race, I can see how it would be justified. As far as last week, both drivers were going for the win. I can appreciate that. It didn't work out for either...
