Maybe Phelps should have a press conference with all the racing media talking head genius types, and make the following statement, " We suck, we're stupid, we are clueless about all forms of racing. We've got this far on dumb luck and fooling the inbred hayseeds. End of presser, thank you, have...

    Deegan Won Again

Geez, when she's winning in the Cup series she then will have "arrived", until then it's all hype and speculation. The late, great Davey Allison came to the Cup level with very little hoopla. Yes, it was a known fact he was Bobbys oldest. That was it. What did he do? Won TWICE in his rookie...

    Chicago RACE thread

As much as I loved the Coors cars, I think I loved his Junior Johnson/ Budwieser cars even more. Solid red, white graphics, how could they go wrong with that? Totally off topic, but I'm nostalgic today.

    Deegan Won Again

I would hope all young drivers do well and never get injured, regardless of gender. It's my opinion, (and that's all), the best asset they bring as they climb the ladder is RESPECT. It is earned. Winning races without dumping other drivers is respectful. But on the other hand there is a world of...

    Truck RACE thread --- Iowa

If a "fan" of stock car racing has ever been at a race where a driver was seriously injured or worse, I cannot imagine they would have such a cavalier attitude about injury or death. I well remember Bobby Allisons near fatal crash at Pocono in 1988. I wasn't there, but I had a sickened feeling...

    Truck RACE thread --- Iowa

As an impressionable young lad, my grandfather passed on some wise words. After reading this exchange, one in particular stands out. "people may assume you to be a fool, when you open your mouth, you erase all doubts". Meditate on that.

    Deegan Won Again

After reading through all this, all I can add is this. It's way, waaay to soon to see what Deegan can or will do at the next level. She's definitely not afraid to rub other drivers. So who knows how far she'll go? Nobody.

    Deegan Won Again

You missed my point. If you want to turn someone for whatever reason, under whatever circumstance, don't be surprised when the favor gets returned.

    Deegan Won Again

Bottom line, the good ole "bump and run" has been around as long as I can remember. I could care less about the gender of the driver. If you can touch the leader, then it's up to you if you think it's worth it or not. Could it come back to bite you someday? Probably so. Most drivers have...

BINGO!!! Doesn't matter who the driver is, or what series. You wanna get rough? Don't whine when it comes back to visit you.

Top 10 Drivers With The Most Wins Over Age 40

And, keep in mind Bobby drove for Bud Moore, Harry Ranier, DiGard, Himself and the Stavola Brothers all after 40. And his career ended at 50. One wonders what he might have accomplished had he ever settled in to a steady, long term ride.

Top 10 Drivers With The Most Wins Over Age 40

Bobby and Handsome Harry were both winning in their fifties. Bobby won the 88 Daytona 500 at 50. I don't think Harry was a rookie until he was 40. Bobby had remarkable stamina. That guy was amazing.

First Memories Of Watching Cup Series

Bits and pieces of Wide World of Sports as a youngun. For some reason a race that really stands out in my mind was the August Busch 500 from Bristol in 1985. I had watched a ton of races before that one, but that race was fantastic. DW and Tim Richmond put on a show. Everyone was roasting right...

First Memories Of Watching Cup Series

The race you're referring to was the fall race at Wilkesboro in 1989. Sr was battling with Rudd, they tangled on the white flag lap. Bodine benefitted well that day.

Attention NASCAR : Listen to your fans !

I want free hot dogs, krispy kreme doughnuts, foot rubs from the Monster girls, and I need a free ride to the tracks, and I ain't got no time to deal with traffic. And I need someone to bring my free stuff from the concession stand. And I want NASCAR to race cars made prior to 1992. That's all...
