23XI statement on not signing Charter agreement

Go back and read carefully. NASCAR has no competitor in their space. CARS is owned by a bunch of guys who work in the NASCAR ecosystem so they definitely aren’t trying to compete. Sprint car racing is a COMPLETELY different discipline than what NASCAR does. It’s like comparing football to...

23XI statement on not signing Charter agreement

NASCAR directly owns a good portion of the venues. The CARS tour has never tried to compete with NASCAR (and good reason), I can’t imagine NASCAR would be very friendly with them if they did. The singular existence of a “competitor” doesn’t negate a monopoly. You used to be able to take old...

23XI statement on not signing Charter agreement

The NFL is more of a competition to NASCAR than “High Limit Racing.” You can worship dirt racing all you want but they’re not competing with NASCAR. Unless it’s a stock car racing series, it’s not a competitor to NASCAR. The CARS Tour is the best argument against a monopoly.

23XI statement on not signing Charter agreement

Trying to use participation in SRX, a spec car series that was basically a part time gig for retired drivers and Hailie Deegan, as proof that NASCAR isn’t a monopoly is laughable. You can be a monopoly while still tolerating entities that aren’t a threat to you. NASCAR’s market is stock car...

You’re the one arguing mainstream popularity. 🤷

Enough Is Enough Full Season Championship.

Nobody’s denying Kyle Larson is huge in dirt racing circles. If you’re a hardcore sprint fan or even just a semi-regular at a dirt track, yeah, you probably know who he is. Totally fair to call him a superstar within the dirt world. But that’s the key, within the dirt world. 700 tracks doesn’t...

Enough Is Enough Full Season Championship.

It’s not my opinion, it is a fact. No one outside of racing circles cares about Dirt sprint racing. It is a niche within a niche. World of Outlaws isn’t even on the mainstream radar. If anyone in the mainstream has heard of Larson, it’s because of his iRacing incident. NASCAR does a poor job of...

Enough Is Enough Full Season Championship.

And before you yell “STICK AND BALL” or whatever else, the decline in mainstream popularity impacts all of us as fans. NASCAR relies on corporate dollars and they need proof of return on their investment. Race fans benefit when NASCAR is popular.

Enough Is Enough Full Season Championship.

I am comparing him to his predecessors, who had mainstream notoriety and brought eyes to the sport. Dale Jr. and Jeff Gordon were household names. Gordon is still the only driver to host SNL. There is no driver today with an ounce of the mainstream notoriety that drivers had 15-20 years ago.

Enough Is Enough Full Season Championship.

The average person does not give two ****s about open wheel dirt racing. Larson is popular because he races for HMS, is a genuinely exciting driver to watch, and (for some people) he was a victim of “cancel culture.” And even with all of that, he’s still not a name that is familiar to the...

Enough Is Enough Full Season Championship.

This says more about the average fan than it does NASCAR. It’s not difficult to understand and does a better job of rewarding regular season performance than The Chase ever did.

Enough Is Enough Full Season Championship.

I honestly don’t care what format we use, I just know NASCAR’s fanbase and how they react to things.

Enough Is Enough Full Season Championship.

This is a perpetually aggrieved fanbase. You have 20 years old on Reddit waxing nostalgic for the full season system. The minute someone pulls a late 90s Jeff Gordon and pounds the field, they’ll start bitching about it. We have people who are nostalgic for snore fest tracks. Whatever NASCAR...

    2026 Silly Season

Bowman is by no means a bad driver but he’s the clear weak link at HMS. He’s a one win per year guy (with the exception of 2021) and his average finish is consistently between 14th and 17th for his entire Hendrick tenure. Those are good but not spectacular numbers. There’s a good argument that...

    Cup RACE thread --- Kansas

Dennis had no power steering, the moron should have just pushed Bubba to the win and then they could’ve focused on giving the best stuff to Reddick next week. Just wow

Bubba needed a win and Dennis was good on points. The move should be obvious to everyone but that MENSA candidate.
