23XI statement on not signing Charter agreement

Who signed Dale Earnhardt? Who put together and paid for the team that powered him to those championships and wins? It was him. He did that. NASCAR didn't do it for him or offer assistance. He did all of that. And that is precisely what we should expect. Why does it make sense that NASCAR should...

23XI statement on not signing Charter agreement

Childress made the majority of that himself by negotiating deals for his team. That's what NASCAR says it wants from its owners but apparently he's a dumb redneck in spite of being one of the most successful owners in the sport's history.

23XI statement on not signing Charter agreement

NASCAR didn't train or develop any of these people. The team owners did all of that. The team owners also being asked to shoulder more load for promoting the sport on social media while also cutting their costs. So why do they need to be loyal?

23XI statement on not signing Charter agreement

Team owners aren't employees of NASCAR. If they were they wouldn't be losing money by participating.

23XI statement on not signing Charter agreement

It might be too late at this point for NASCAR. They might seriously let themselves get dismantled because they're too stubborn and entitled to believe they should have had to settle. It's as though they've decided that since they might not survive the next media deal they don't care and are...

Enough Is Enough Full Season Championship.

Are we doing a thing now where actually the majority of fans want playoffs but in lieu of actual evidence it's "all the people who haven't been polled want it"? I just want to make sure I get what's happening.

23XI statement on not signing Charter agreement

Oh no! What if the networks who have foisted upon the sport a playoff system that it's fanbase hates felt like they were being diluted in the product they were being sold? That's such a serious concern to me, the guy who actively watches current Cup racers more outside Cup than in it. I really...

23XI statement on not signing Charter agreement

These discussions are the only times I ever hear people speak negatively about teams spending on trying to win races. Every other time ever in discussion of motorsports, people want to discuss all the wild tricks and advantages and occasional cheating teams did. But then when it comes to this...

23XI statement on not signing Charter agreement

Since I have smark credentials I'll just cite the following: *Wrestling was run as a cartel in America until Vince McMahon Jr. entered the scene. Seriously. Go look up what a cartel is and compare it to the NWA Territory system. In fact, so true is what I'm typing that in 1956, the NWA had to...

23XI statement on not signing Charter agreement

Did it bother you when there were cars that would just change engines to go between ARCA and NASCAR? I dunno, doesn't matter much to me if someone chooses to race the Nextgen in a non-NASCAR sanctioned race for whatever reason. I feel the same about anything else in racing. I'd pay to watch old...

23XI statement on not signing Charter agreement

Everything *east*. Not that anyone cared. LOL. In any case no one is going to start an upstart stock car series. That said, I can absolutely see someone trying to do a PRO Superstar Shootout type event, which TBH I don't know why anyone should care about that or think it's a bad thing. If some...

    F1 2025 News/Misc.

So Ferrari's president basically threw Charles LeClerc and Lewis Hamilton under the bus for Ferrari not winning. Mind you, Ferrari has basically spent the entire DTS era looking like complete buffoons and I'm not sure how this helps with that.

23XI statement on not signing Charter agreement

Give me a real top tier stock car series with no points gimmicks and I'm watching it. That's a major point of differentiation from NASCAR. Sure wish there was someone else the last 20 years to give it to me that's bigger than the CRA or CARS Tour.

23XI statement on not signing Charter agreement

The WoO have had two separate competitors in the past and another one coming up was always a possibility as Flo grew. And of course there have always been other series with a more regional bent (the All Stars basically raced everything west of the Mountain Time Zone).

23XI statement on not signing Charter agreement

SRX was paying for time: the least viable and sustainable solution for a NASCAR competitor. Not to mention I'd argue they weren't ever competing with NASCAR to begin with and I think they'd have said the same.

23XI statement on not signing Charter agreement

No one has posed the notion of a competing stock car series since SMI themselves did it. If you want to look for a reason why NASCAR would want SMI to agree to those terms, there you go.
  17. V

23XI statement on not signing Charter agreement

Are you asking about SMI or NASCAR? NASCAR not maintaining their physical plant because other people can rent it (given that other people HAVE been renting their facilities) would be a choice and an incredibly foolhardy one at that. Why would SMI choose to stop maintaining their facilities...

23XI statement on not signing Charter agreement

They're performing the role of putting the race on that NASCAR is required to have in order to have their TV deal. There's no welfare there. That's a business deal. NASCAR isn't asking the teams for cost containment. They're asking for the teams to build anything goes cars for the All Star Race.

23XI statement on not signing Charter agreement

Because you still have to put on races for your TV deal? Because the markets those tracks are in have long standing fanbases who are interested in NASCAR and are near media markets that are appealing to your partners? There is absolutely nothing requiring them to reduce the money they give the...

That's correct based on what I quoted. Baseball's antitrust exemption is to other baseball leagues. It has nothing to do with other professional sports. I tried to help you on that. Not hard. But I tried.
