I don't really care what the playoff system is at this point. I just wish the broadcasters would stop bringing up the point standings every two seconds and showing the +/- cutline graphic for half the race.

Eliminate the "win and you're in" rule for both regular season and playoffs, cut the playoff field back to 12 with three rounds of three races each.

They should at least eliminate the "win and you're in the next round" rule during the playoffs. Whoever wins the first race in the round of 8 has the unfair advantage of being able to ignore the next two races and put all time and effort into Phoenix.

Sunday was a true indictment of the playoff format. Something must change systemically. Suspending crew chiefs and spotters isn't going to do the trick.

All major sports leagues are monopolies in spirit. The difference is NASCAR doesn't give its talent (drivers/owners/engine builders) a real seat at the table to negotiate terms. The apparent fact that NASCAR even owns the cars which they make the teams buy the parts for from a mandated supplier...

I know I and almost everyone around me at the race did. Say what you will about the move, it made an otherwise ho-hum race worth watching up close.

I'm heading down south for this one on Sunday afternoon after a tour of the Capitol in the morning. Let's go KFB!
