I agree that sponsorship exposure is important. On the flip side, the sponsor likely isn't approaching a driver asking them to run the 500. It is much more likely that the driver decides they want to run it and then find a sponsor and team to make it happen.

Exposure might be the driving force for the team and sponsors.. but I feel like a Daytona 500 (or any nascar race) trophy would be a good enough reason for the drivers to want to do it.

LOL ..and what's with it being only world class "race car drivers" they allow in? That sounds like discrimination against non race car drivers to me. What does nascar think they have the monopoly on race car drivers or something? This could get dicey! 😅

Best part of this will be seeing the teams save millions of dollars only to spend it on R&D and more expensive parts anyway. Then we'll see who really has the "skill and talent" around the garage 🤣

I never thought they were going anywhere. Didn't even really cross my mind as an actual thing that might happen. Just because they're being sued for monopolizing the industry doesn't mean someone else wants to enter the industry as competition.

Wait, more money than others' combined with access to better parts can cause a team to have an unfair advantage?! What? No waaaaaay! *sarcasm*
