I willing sit in a tree stand for hours barely moving for hours on end, sometimes from daylight to dark in temperatures well below freezing. Its just a matter of showing up prepared.
Race fans can be so fair weather. Yeah if the place is covered in snow and ice cancel it, but not for cold.
25 degrees is really nothing for any other major league sport. Today I was just happy to see temperature here without a minus in front of the number
I watched the two episodes of race for the seat. Maybe I'm missing something, but how does the scoring make any sense?
The R team is the fastest drivers, yet all 3 groups get the same points?
Bubba brought a lot with him at the time he left Petty to head to 23XI. Heck I believe there was even a brief lawsuit over one of them. He brought DoorDash, McDonald's, Columbia Sportswear, Dr Pepper, and Root Insurance with him when he left.
Southern people playing in the snow always makes me laugh, in Wisconsin we just call that a Tuesday. Drove past the lake on the way to the grocery store this morning and there was a bunch of full size trucks parked out on the ice next to the fishing shacks
It's a great book, but underlines that without a spending cap there is no end to the amount of money teams will spend to win.
They spent a crazy amount of money on a motor to run just one race. I can't imagine that using the Concord to shuttle parts back and forth across the pond was exactly...
I agree I was actually pushing for him back in his Petty (or whatever they were calling themselves at the time) days. He has talent, along with many other drivers that we'll never hear about. He just needed a shot in some good equipment. Sponsors will always jump on the next new shinny thing...
You can say or call it what you want, but the political climate at the time he moved to 23XI granted him the opportunity to a lot more sponsorship than he previously had. You can't blame Bubba for taking advantage of the situation that was presented to him. Now he took that and made something...
I have no doubt they can have they track ready if they want to, its just a matter of how much they want it.
Back in 94 when penske was developing the beast motor they melted snow on the old Nazareth speedway just so he could "secretly" develop that motor.
