so what is going to be the new points system?

You can learn a lot but there’s also no accountability for being a jackass in the simulator. A lot of these young guys have a jackass problem. Honest question: To what extent do they simulate the conditions of being in the car? I am talking heat and g forces.

so what is going to be the new points system?

I don't think it's going out on a limb to say that open wheel dirt is not the grassroots of stock car racing, a related but different discipline. We need more support for dirt and asphalt late model racing. You can learn transferable skills in open wheel dirt but for those of us who like racing...

so what is going to be the new points system?

There's a reason why every other sports sanctioning body invests in youth sports to some degree. If you want to find the best talent, you have to create an environment where it can grow and thrive. There are valid criticisms about things like youth hockey and baseball being too prohibitively...

so what is going to be the new points system?

I don’t think we’re actually that far apart, but I do think this circles back to the core point I was originally trying to make. I agree with most of your diagnosis of how the system works today. The pull of Charlotte, the economic reality of pavement late models, the collapse of regional...

so what is going to be the new points system?

Part of the core issue is that NASCAR teams don’t even see the grassroots of stock car racing as its feeder any more. You either have to drive a winged sprint car really well or have a lot of money behind you to break in these days.

so what is going to be the new points system?

You just have to read his other posts. He’s always blaming NASCAR and the France family for everything.

so what is going to be the new points system?

And practice sessions were cut down at the request of the RTA, not NASCAR. And you just spent months cheering on a team owner against NASCAR.

so what is going to be the new points system?

I don’t recall ever leaving. I am posting this from my seat in Loudon. It’s cold guys.

so what is going to be the new points system?

I would hope NASCAR is doing actual market research instead of listening to a relatively small group of fans.

    Plane Crash in Statesville NC

When it comes to people flying themselves, I also think about JFK Jr. Another one we lost way too soon.

    Plane Crash in Statesville NC

They also fly distances that most people would drive. Dale Jr’s deal happened when he was preparing to go to Bristol and the Hendrick crash happened flying to Martinsville. Bristol and Martinsville are 3 and 2 hours by car from Charlotte respectively. I would feel safer in a car than a private...

    Plane Crash in Statesville NC

If the world had more Greg Biffles, it’d be a better place. Another one taken way too soon. One of the greats but got too few years in top equipment. He should’ve gotten the 19 after Carl Edwards suddenly retired. I think he would’ve surprised some people.

SiriusXM's NASCAR Radio - Today's, not so hidden, agenda.....

Dennis sees himself as a hero of the working man. Dennis is also delusional

23XI statement on not signing Charter agreement

We know that Dennis is an impulsive nut so this tracks for him. Jordan would've been rich no matter the outcome.

23XI statement on not signing Charter agreement

This lawsuit was a huge risk for the sport. I am happy that the charters are permanent. Without some kind of spending cap though, the funding structure of the sport is still broken. If a guy like Corey Heim can’t get a ride and move up because he doesn’t bring money, you know something’s wrong.

I’m happy that cooler heads prevailed.

23XI statement on not signing Charter agreement

People were talking about the idea of “franchises” in NASCAR twenty years ago. I remember Ray Evernham being a proponent of it. Jordan didn’t invent the idea.

If we’re predicting famous #14 drivers, I am going to guess Ron Hornaday. No reason, just vibes.

23XI statement on not signing Charter agreement

If Dennis is running 23XI then they’re in trouble because everything I have seen from him tells me that he is a grade A moron. NASCAR is a monopoly and likely even an illegal one but the remedy for fixing that could give us our own version of the CART/IRL split. Is the juice worth the squeeze...
