    2026 Daytona 500 Countdown

They had covered seating but it was noisy!! Those ribbed metal roofs bounced the noise back twice as loud. Imagine sitting on a porch with a tin roof in a rain storm than add exhaust sounds reverberating from the roof.

    Johali's Rate the Clash -- Bowman-Grey

9.0 it was entertaining, aggressive, and provided some tense moments. All in all, a good race. I actually thought the uncertainty of the weather made it much more interesting as drivers were forced to adapt to constantly changing conditions and situations.

    2026 Daytona 500 Countdown

Stubborn old man never looked at the top photos with initials DW over photo of Michael. The fixation was the one below with caption 1979 wreck where the 88 was cleaning the top of the fence and thought that was the picture being referenced. So much humility and embarrassment. ( Walks away...

    2026 Daytona 500 Countdown

I am getting a little long in the tooth and my memory isn't as sharp as it used to be at the age of 89 but the driver of the 88 car was Darrell. To the best of my recollection, Mikey never drove a Gatorade sponsored car although he did drive a car sponsored by Hawaiian Punch a couple of years...

If the year was 1979, it is Darrell Waltrip. Mikey didn't start in the Cup series until the 1980s.

    Fable of the Hedgehog

Fable of the Hedgehog... It was the coldest winter ever. Many animals died because of the cold. The Hedgehogs, realizing the situation, decided to group together to keep warm. This way they covered and protected themselves; but the quills of each one wounded their closest companions...

    2026 Chili Bowl

Justin Grant did one heckuva job getting to second. He had the car to win but a racing deal ended his night. Great race!! Right off hand cannot think of another race that was as exciting as 2026 Chili Bowl. Congrats to Axsom. He delivered.

    Pearls of Wisdom

One good thing about being wrong is the joy it brings to others. If your outgo exceeds your income, then your upkeep will be your downfall. If your palm itches, you are going to get something. If your crotch itches, you've already got it. My wife and I decided to never go to bed angry...

    Greg Biffle

There are no words to describe this terrible tragedy. It is tragic when anyone dies, no matter the cause, but Greg did so much for those less fortunate there must be a special place for him and his family. Deepest sympaties to his loved ones, fans and friends. God speed, Greg.

The Dale Earnhardt, Jr. Appreciation Thread

WOW!! Somebody is up early this morning. ;) To get to the nitty gritty of what is said here, why not go back to teams qualifying for every race. No more charters or franchise. Every business makes choices that have shortcomings and the charter system, while it sounded good at the beginning...

23XI statement on not signing Charter agreement

Denny made them look bad? How so? My limited memory seems to recall, Heather Gibbs, wife to the late Coy Gibbs and officer of JGR, was in favor or teams owning charters. Seems to me she sent a letter stating such. I'm at a loss how this makes them or Denny look bad.

23XI statement on not signing Charter agreement

Did I miss something or was it mentioned early on after the settlement some terms were verboten. If that were the case the arrangement(s) between 23XI, FRM and NASCAR, other than those made public, are under seal and most likely include who paid how much to whom. and for what. This wasn't all...
