Whatever the outcome is, this game has been awesome. I read a headline yesterday that ESPN wants to bring back more nonconference games like this in January and February. Thank you to Duke and Michigan for agreeing to this matchup.

I don’t lock in for the Winter Games like I do for the Summer, but I and many others will absolutely be tuned in at 8 AM ET tomorrow. Best on best in men’s hockey is what we’ve been waiting for for years now and we got exactly the matchup we desired. You couldn’t ask for a better culminating event.

The NBA just had its most-watched in 15 years. That’s entirely switching from TNT to NBC, though. Plus the first year of changes to Nielsen methodology, which has caused pretty much everything sports to increase.

I wouldn’t be surprised if it vaulted back around 10M. Feels like there were generally good vibes and momentum coming in and not having any weather or delays for a change should be a big boost.

An official throwback weekend is in the works for the Laguna Seca race weekend in early May. There were some rumors that PPM were going to run some throwbacks to the RS Spyder and/or 917/30 at Daytona but that obviously didn’t happen, so I think we may end up seeing them here instead...
