23XI statement on not signing Charter agreement

Give me a real top tier stock car series with no points gimmicks and I'm watching it. That's a major point of differentiation from NASCAR. Sure wish there was someone else the last 20 years to give it to me that's bigger than the CRA or CARS Tour.

23XI statement on not signing Charter agreement

The WoO have had two separate competitors in the past and another one coming up was always a possibility as Flo grew. And of course there have always been other series with a more regional bent (the All Stars basically raced everything west of the Mountain Time Zone).

23XI statement on not signing Charter agreement

SRX was paying for time: the least viable and sustainable solution for a NASCAR competitor. Not to mention I'd argue they weren't ever competing with NASCAR to begin with and I think they'd have said the same.

23XI statement on not signing Charter agreement

No one has posed the notion of a competing stock car series since SMI themselves did it. If you want to look for a reason why NASCAR would want SMI to agree to those terms, there you go.

23XI statement on not signing Charter agreement

Are you asking about SMI or NASCAR? NASCAR not maintaining their physical plant because other people can rent it (given that other people HAVE been renting their facilities) would be a choice and an incredibly foolhardy one at that. Why would SMI choose to stop maintaining their facilities...

23XI statement on not signing Charter agreement

They're performing the role of putting the race on that NASCAR is required to have in order to have their TV deal. There's no welfare there. That's a business deal. NASCAR isn't asking the teams for cost containment. They're asking for the teams to build anything goes cars for the All Star Race.

23XI statement on not signing Charter agreement

Because you still have to put on races for your TV deal? Because the markets those tracks are in have long standing fanbases who are interested in NASCAR and are near media markets that are appealing to your partners? There is absolutely nothing requiring them to reduce the money they give the...

23XI statement on not signing Charter agreement

That's correct based on what I quoted. Baseball's antitrust exemption is to other baseball leagues. It has nothing to do with other professional sports. I tried to help you on that. Not hard. But I tried.

23XI statement on not signing Charter agreement

MLB does indeed have one. It is the only league that has such an exception. Let me give you a hint: The 45th and 47th President of the US famously was involved in an antitrust lawsuit which he was party to the winning side of. Amusingly he wound up getting screwed by jury instructions.

23XI statement on not signing Charter agreement

I mean, where else would the money go? What is the necessity for NASCAR to do what you're prescribing and reduce the track fees because they no longer can demand exclusivity?

23XI statement on not signing Charter agreement

Literally not a single part of that is true, LOL. Like so profoundly untrue and incorrect it is one of the funnier things I've ever read.

This is solid gold. I hope you all are appreciating it.

23XI statement on not signing Charter agreement

There's nothing that actually correlates those demands with the amount of money they receive from NASCAR. If NASCAR decreases the cut given to tracks and instead redirects that to teams, that has nothing to do with exclusivity.

Yeah, couldn't even really get that either I suppose given that the response literally starts with "no," lmao. The knots this guy is tying himself into are incredible. Just let him cook.

23XI statement on not signing Charter agreement

And admit being incorrect earlier? Surely, you jest! I'm already getting myself ready for the spin when the settlement comes through. Knowing our interactions here, you probably haven't heard about the folks out here that believe that they will be made not only whole but unimaginably rich...

23XI statement on not signing Charter agreement

Some of you guys need to stop getting so mad at this and just laugh like I do.

23XI statement on not signing Charter agreement

Basically, NASCAR's counter suit that the local France Family Defense Force here are so enamored with does have a fatal flaw: it basically acknowledges NASCAR's position in the market of professional stock car racing. This guy went so far as to say that NASCAR fell into a trap by filing it. I'm...

23XI statement on not signing Charter agreement

It was one of the vintage series IIRC and they wound up at the smaller track instead as a result of NASCAR throwing a fit.

23XI statement on not signing Charter agreement

In order to file a lawsuit, you have to first have suffered damages as a result of the actor you are suing since that is the purpose of bringing a civil suit. The average person doesn't qualify. Those who might qualify to sue such a company generally have reason not to do so and/or they don't...
