Nascar Cup Series at Watkins Glenn Pre - Race Thread

Once again, they have practice. Most if not all have driven the course before, tires aren't changing the preferred lines at the race track. They're isn't a new line at the track. I posted where the tires will be in both turns. Simple to make corrections during simulation. This is a safety issue...

Nascar Cup Series at Watkins Glenn Pre - Race Thread

I don't see anything getting hurt except the cars that can't stay on the track. At Turn 1, four tire-pack barriers will be placed progressively closer to the racing surface as drivers exit the corner. NASCAR officials outlined the setup as follows: Tire pack No. 1 positioned 11 feet off the...

Everybody gets practice. I'd rather get back to the weather myself. Nascar got rid of snowball Bowman Grey clash or whatever it was. Will Watkins Glenn be a May mud hole?

You were supposed to stand ON the lawn chair not sit in it.

In your case you might sustain an injury from a wayward golf club competing for a spot on a lawn chair lol.

They have practice at Watkins Glenn. I think you should have used the chicken or the egg example myself. It's entirely possible it can be both and it is. Entertainment and a sport. BTW Don't compare motor racing to stick n ball when trying to make a point it's just silly. Be more like Ernest.

    Preece Penalty

It gets tricky when they factor in how many cars the driver that was wrecked has wrecked himself. It's called the "did he have it coming rule?". The Bubba/Hocevar thing was used there. No, I am not serious, but this is the B.S. that happens when they start calling penalties. One driver gets one...

Why should JGR wait when they could do this?

I thought we were talking about a braking zones? Now a run off area is a racing line? Who knows where the tires are going? They filling the whole thing up to the rumble strips that didn't work in one? That racing line lol.

Unless they were planning on hitting the wall in the first place I can't see any changes to braking zones. Tires are only going to help if you blow the corner.

    The Saga of Chris Gabehart

That's what it looks like to me, another corporate power grab that could have implications for not only the racing world but the workforce at large. One step closer to indentured servitude if a worker can't take his skills to wherever he wants. They will be writing non competes for the whole...

    The Saga of Chris Gabehart

Pretty sure next week JGR will amend the suit because there were 5 Chevy's and 2 Fords in the top ten last week. Proof that Gapehart and Spire have stolen their precious data.

Lot of bad wrecks have happened in and around turn 5. Turn one is where they overshoot into the runoff area and there is a wall there when it narrows back.

    Preece Penalty

This is the third post where it has been cussed and discussed. I don't think there should be penalties either. This isn't close to repeated Carl Edwards/Brad Keselowski level wrecking. I think the parties involved should have all had a talking to and a warning about doing it again. I hope this...

    The Saga of Chris Gabehart

:XXROFL: Spire knowingly, intentionally, unjustifiably, and in bad faith induced Gabehart to breach his contract with JGR by (1) soliciting and hiring him to work for Spire, (2) requesting, encouraging, or otherwise inducing him to disclose or use Plaintiff’s trade secrets or confidential...
