Cup RACE thread --- The All-Star race

I can appreciate the fact they are at least being honest about it instead of doubling down and trying to justify what clearly cannot be justified with a straight face. They still need to take a hard look at race control. I really question the decision making by whoever made that call. To me...

Cup RACE thread --- The All-Star race

Meh. It's way more than just a "missed call" IMO. There have been too many times in the past when NASCAR tries way too hard to find a reason for a yellow, simply because they love restarts and the action they bring. The fundamental reasoning and the logic behind a caution went out the window a...

Cup RACE thread --- The All-Star race

Nobody is confused by the rules. Nobody is suggesting the race should have ended with that yellow. We're simply pointing out how wrong it was to throw a yellow in that situation.

Cup RACE thread --- The All-Star race

Even NASCAR says it was the wrong call. The only one ignoring that is you. I never failed to understand that. If you want to go ahead and point out where you think I was ever confused by this, I'm all ears.

Cup RACE thread --- The All-Star race

Of course it happened, and it was 100% the wrong call. I didn't mention anything about the window net or any of the events that followed. Blaney and/or the spotter making a mistake shouldn't overshadow the most ridiculous yellow flag in the history of auto racing. I thought a yellow for a...

Cup RACE thread --- The All-Star race

So what's your argument? Everything that ever happens in life is correct because humans never make mistakes? And anyone in a position to make a judgment call is above any form of criticism when they screw up? Get real, man.

Cup RACE thread --- The All-Star race

Anyone who understands the point of a caution flag and the purpose it serves within a race cannot say that yellow was the slightest bit justified in that situation. And that's the bottom line, because common sense said so.

    Johali's Rate the All-Star race

1 I was going to give it a 3 until that ridiculously unnecessary yellow. NASCAR has been stretching the logic of what constitutes a caution for well over a decade now, especially when races are dull, but they have been a lot better since the stages came along. But there's no way in hell they...

    NASCAR Paint Scheme Discussion

It doesn't look bad overall, but the driver's door area between the number and sponsor drives me nuts. It looks like they didn't know how to tie it together with the rest of the paint scheme, and this is the result. If you aren't going to design your paint scheme around the lines of the car...

    David Wilson was “disappointed”

I have it (Youtube TV subscriber) and watch it quite a bit. MotorTrend TV is basically the modern day replacement for Speed Channel. I'm assuming it comes standard on most cable/streaming providers but I really have no idea. Hopefully they will have more racing content going forward with the...

    '21 Generation 7 Car news

I don't think Ford has struggled. Penske has speed and Roush isn't running any worse than they have in the past decade. One can argue that SHR has "struggled" overall, but maybe that speaks more to the caliber of their drivers.

    David Wilson was “disappointed”

I'm not mad at all. Couldn't care less about the transparency. I just think some of you are making a mountain out of a molehill. Hell if I know. None of us know all of the details behind how this came about, none of us know the conversations that took place and the full dialogue between...

    David Wilson was “disappointed”

You really think Chase and Larson are that desperate for seat time? Because they are such terrible road racers and need the practice, right? What, specifically, about this car can they "take over and apply" to the Cup side?

    David Wilson was “disappointed”

It doesn't matter what they do to this car, because they can't apply it to a Cup car. The "future tech" is something that will be spec. We all know Hendrick has been kicking around the idea of expanding into IMSA, and this is an opportunity for NASCAR to test some of their ideas in race...

    David Wilson was “disappointed”

Exactly. Bunch of nonsense. Anyone speculating that Chevrolet/HMS/Elliott/etc will benefit from this is full of it. That's like saying Penske, Ganassi, and Haas have an unfair advantage in NASCAR because they run open wheel.

    Return of the XFL???

If it's football, I'll watch. But two spring leagues is really spreading it thin. I think the best chance for a successful league would be an XFL/USFL merger.
