The green-white-checker and double file restarts are the best "gimmicks" NASCAR ever implemented. Both are also the norm at every level and series in asphalt short track oval racing so I really don't have a problem with it

For the record, a lot of the mid 2000s-mid 2010s California and Michigan races that were considered pretty tame are becoming "cult classics" when talent in the series was at its peak and the cars were entering the turns at 205mph+. I think the fan base is slowly turning towards wanting more...

My "issue" with JJ still racing is I feel it's 90% financially motivated rather than actually wanting to be out there. He was never an emotional interview guy but now whenever they talk to him it sounds like a CEO giving quarterly earnings on a conference call.
