NASCAR sucks now. Support your local tracks.

Add me to list of fans who's interest has declined. I went from being sure to not miss a race, to watching maybe six races this past season. The championship format makes the Cup title meaningless to me now. The races that I did watch mostly ended in green-white-checkered wreck fests, which I...

    Make the Drivers popular again!

I don't think this is the case anymore. Gone are the days when a company like Wrangler would come in and want to advertise their rugged drivers doing rugged things in their rugged jeans. Today's sponsor deals are often determined by which team can give the best Business 2 Business deals, or else...

    Silly Season 2025

He doesn't have to have a car, he just has to write a big enough check to rent one.

    Silly Season 2025

Yup, it's the beginning of the end for Denny in the 11. Especially now that they have Briscoe in the 19, the rest of JGR's Cup driver lineup should have them set solidly for the next handful of years. Denny is on the back end of his career, long-time sponsor gone away, somewhat of a decline in...

    Silly Season 2025

@Jorge De Guzman I agree, it's tough to watch KB's career fizzling out like this. I know he wasn't winning a ton during his last few seasons at Gibbs either, but he can definitely do more with a good car under him that what he's got right now.

If we have to have a playoff system....

I agree that the playoffs need an overhaul, but I think the sport is at risk of losing championship legitimacy over how many times the points system has changed. There used to be talk in the early Chase format days of, "without the Chase, so and so would have won the championship". Well now...

    Another manufacturer coming to NASCAR?

I won't believe in a fourth manufacturer until we see them unloading in February. We've heard this for years.

What did you think of the Martinsville call?

One thing's for sure. C Bell must be very confident that he'll never need to seek a new ride with any Chevy team in the future.

23XI statement on not signing Charter agreement

This is a great point and is exactly why the next generation of bodies are going to be crossovers like the electric prototype they unveiled earlier this year.

Is NASCAR going on a downward spiral? What to do to stop the bleeding?

It's a combination of everything. The playoffs format/championship feels empty to me. I haven't been able to find a driver to pull for like I did for Jeff Gordon, and now that he's been retired for almost ten years I think I just won't find that magic again. The new car looks great, but it...

Is NASCAR going on a downward spiral? What to do to stop the bleeding?

The fanbase is statistically much smaller than it was during the peak of 2007. I've barely watched this year. Last year I tuned in every weekend. This year whenever I did turn a race on, it ended in a chaotic green-white-checkered. I miss when races would usually play out under green to the...

    Chevrolet next year?

Because IMSA prototypes and NASCAR Cup Series are advertising to two different demographics. Notice how Toyota doesn't run the Lexus LC in Xfinity.

    Chevrolet next year?

Neither of those things have any chance of happening.

What did you think of the Martinsville call?

I agree with those saying that if NASCAR doesn't issue penalties during the week then Phoenix is going to be a manufacturer/team orders circus from the first lap to the checkered flag. If there's no incentive not to use your manufacturer teammates as blockers, then why shouldn't you make the...

    Cup RACE thread: Martinsville

I think the situation with the 3, 1 and 23 was too complex for them to make a decision on right now in the moment, but it wouldn't surprise me if we heard about penalties this week for those teams.

    Cup RACE thread: Martinsville

Don't think of it like Byron as much as the team and Chevy. The 24 car was the beneficiary of race manipulation. It's nothing against Byron, it's the team.

    Cup RACE thread: Martinsville

My first reaction was to agree with this, but then think about it: If you remove the 24 and 20 only to put the 5 and 11 in, then Hendrick and Gibbs still win even after manipulating the race. Just different car numbers in the title hunt for them instead. What a mess.

DQ the 24 and the 20, plus the 3, 1 and 23. How is this much different from what Michael Waltrip Racing did back in 2013 at Richmond?
