It got started by counting the points... The sport has been destroyed not by the fans, but by the CEO/Top Managers/whoever has been in charge and made wrong decisions in the past 5/10 years

honestly I don't think that's the reason why ratings are declining so fast. Overexposure is present in every major sport. What about the NBA, the MLB, the NFL ? If I had a dime every time I come across a channel with a show where they talk about the NFL I'd be rich by now.
