What Do you Think of the New Package?

IMO your counterpoint defines grasping at straws. You like the 2019 rules and that is fine with me. No justification needed.

What Do you Think of the New Package?

Well said and the stats Nascar uses and parroted by others to indicate if a race was good or not are ludicrous. When was the last time someone watched a race or game and said “after watching it I thought it really sucked but after reviewing the stats it was really good.”

The Flames-Avalanche game that went to overtime was a good one!

    NASCAR - Television Ratings Thread

I’m surprised that a niche sport like the NHL did so well against Nascar coverage. It would be interesting to see what the ratings for the programs looked like in Canada.

What Do you Think of the New Package?

Is there any data that shows that quality passes in the pack make for better racing?

What Do you Think of the New Package?

Extremely well said. The only problem with elementary truths is that they are not elementary for some to grasp. I have always liked the DH rule in the AL. I have been taken to task by purists and others over this flawed thinking. I don’t care as watching a pitcher try and hit is not exciting to...

The only Aldo I’m familiar with is part of the Andretti clan. I doubt you all are referring to him.

What Do you Think of the New Package?

Your comments on this post don’t coincide with what you said earlier in this thread. Have you changed your mind? I agree that stats don’t tell the whole story. Stats are definitely useful tools but you never want to categorically base things like passing loop data to say a race was good or bad.

Nascar directed shills on this board?

IDK if there are Nascar employed shills amongst us but there are some volunteers for sure. There are some fans that are very protective of Nascar and if you are not in lock step with them then look out! I think the forum tent is big enough for all sorts of personalities. The good news is you...

    The Attendance Thread

I didn’t get to see the race last night but it is sitting on the DVR for later.......maybe. I think attendance last night was somewhat disappointing but not a complete embarrassment. Gotta hope we don’t see attendance slipping into the 20-30k range next season.

    The Attendance Thread

Using the recession and hotel costs for NASCAR’s bad attendance is not very smart. A lot more fans attended all Nascar races when the the economy was sour.

    The Attendance Thread

More people attended Nascar racing when the economy was in cardiac arrest than today. All we are hearing are lame excuses and pre-planned excuses for failure. Three years ago 70k attended the Bristol spring race and 35k did this year. The lower attendance this year had zippo to with the economy.

    The Attendance Thread

It looks like a very slim chance of inclement weather tonight so I am optimistic fans will flock to the track. People have had all day to get to there and most wont have to work tomorrow so there are no excuses.
