Personally, I have never understood the total hype about Alan. I know, I know, I know, he did it his way and whipped the big boys in his Underdog car. In his whole carreer, he won five races, but he was smarter than Junior Johnson and that got him a championship. I'm glad that he won his title, but had he not lost his life when he did, I doubt very seriously that he would be nearly as popular as he is today.
