Down to 8 races left this season, just a bit under 2600 laps of racing.

Kevin moved into 2nd place behind Matt, and Matt's magic number is at 10. Finish 10th or better in the remaining races and he can't be caught. And Matt is within half a point per race of making that number 11.

If Matt finishes 12th JJ can't catch him, if he finishes 13th, Jr can't catch him.

Kevin needs to average over a 54 point gain in each and every race left to catch Matt.

Dale Jarrett in 27th place is beyond the point of having a mathematical shot at catching up. As is every driver 28th or worse in the point standings.

Should Matt start every race, Greg Biffle in 19th and every driver lower cannot catch the leader.
 
Not like this takes a genius to figure out, but it sounds like Matt has this one wrapped up.

Seems like we've been saying this for over a month now...Matt just continues to be 'Mr. Consistent" while his competitors keep running into problems.

I keep think he HAS to get in a wreck or get a couple laps down eventually...but alas he just keeps posting 10's and better!

well darn. Kenseth never get's into trouble, and when he does nothing really happens to him.
 
I'm still wishing for a Kevin Harvick comback, like Alan Kulwicki did back in 1992.

:wacko: id rather see Kenseth have it then him, just something I dont like about Harvick.
