An interesting interview with Dale Earnhardt Jr. can be found here. I didn't bother posting the actual interview because of the language. No more fines necessary. :D

I hadn't thought about the Fantasy Football angle before. I do know of some people that do Fantasy NASCAR, but it's pretty complicated and not user friendly. That's some great insight on Jr's part.

I agree with his take on Daytona qualifying.........those rules have always seemed as clear as mud to me

Very interesting interview.

I loved how he wants to be like Ken Schrader and keep driving anything and everything.
Seems like it may behoove him to get behind the wheel as much as he could right now, instead of hurrying home to eat bon-bons and catch up on his male soap operas.
Other than that, I appreciate his outlook, and opinions on most of what he said.

That was a pretty good interview. I think Junior was talking about Heat races when he was talking about "Qualifying races"? I think that what he was getting at.

I was thinking of some ideas of how they could actually be in a race of their own. Have three qualifying races. You have the 36 guys who make it on (points). Split them into two qualifying races, like normal, but then take the guys who have to race their way in and give them their own race. They get more exposure, their sponsors get more exposure, the fans get more bang for their buck.

Good idea!

Good idea!

I actually do like the idea of heat races replacing qualifying races.

They were pretty straight forward until the implementation of the top 35 rule. That totally effed up qualifying for Daytona. After reading Jr's ideas on Daytona qualifying with the top 35, or in his case the top 36, rule in place, I think it's a good idea. It sure makes more sense then what is currently in place, therefore it won't happen.
