Welcome to the forums.

I've only been there once so I'm not going to be a huge help when it comes to Charlotte. Here's a link to just about everything that is in and around the area of the track. It has traffic & parking info. Camping info. Strip clubs, bars, tv/redio stations. Need a tat of your favorite driver, this is the link for you. Press here for all you answers. There is a mind numbing amount of info on this page related to the Charlotte race.

Use the trams that are provided. It's a long walk around the track if your parked on the wrong side of the track. Bring friends, money, a cooler full of your favorite beverage, money, scanner & head sets, money, snacks, & a little more money. You'll have a great time. :beerbang:

The Ford Terrace is where we sat and the view was great!

how high up to get a seat ?(i have to fly 4000miles to see this ..my 1st and only? race.......)

From the Ford Terrace we were able to see the entire track and pit road. We were somewhere around the 15th row or so. I can only speak for that section of the track. You can probably get cheaper seats down lower and see the whole track but someone else will have to help you there. In my book, as a general rule of thumb, the higher the seat the better the view.

I've only been to this track twice and both times were in the Gator Aid suite. Didn't have to bring any money, food or drink. First time got out of the parking lot quickly, second time it took two hours. Park as far away from the track as possible. If it takes you an hour or two to walk to your car, you'll have a no problem getting out of your lot.

Now that doesn't sound like the average race fan's experience. Or..... maybe I'm simply below average. :D
Yep, yer right about that. The wife and I have retired from going to any Cup races and have concentrated on our local weekly series and some of the modified tour races around the area. The last Cup race we paid for was in Martinsville several years ago. But we have a friend who works for GatorAid while in Charlotte and he has asked us several times if we would be available to watch the race from the suite. All of these races have been Saturday night races and because I work on Saturdays, I've not been available. However, the last two times he asked us, I was either off that day or on vacation so we took him up on the deal. It was a great experience but there were of course draw backs. But we'll probably never again do it.

That sounds pretty sweet. Well, if the offer ever comes up again and you're unable to make it..... Tell him that your long lost friend and his wife in PA would be more than happy to attend. :D

That sounds like a great way to see the race from the suite, tried getting enough people together for a smaller suite in Vegas one year, but couldn't get down to where we could afford it. I agree with Buck about not going to Cup races, the wife and I have been to quite a few races this month locally after not going at all since last year. Next year we are going to try to knock off some more local tracks in the NE area. Eventually we want to go to all the tracks in each NE state within the next 5 years. After I started looking I had to narrow it down to just Asphalt because I also want to hit some in Eastern NY and places like Oswego, Wyoming Speedway, ect... Should be fun.

Other than Oswego, you should narrow it down to just dirt tracks. There's no comparison. Dirt racing is just an awesome sight.

You dont need a gun....i live in the city limits, Charlotte is pretty safe.

I laugh at people who say that, paranoia of big cities...its funny.
