Charlotte Motor Speedway, thanks for the help here on my 1st thread.. i ended up in the ...ford grand stand ... sec A row 22 (they said i /u can see the whole track from row 17up) about/just before where they come out from pit row...good seats? 4 tickets @ $484,! what else i need? i'd like to get "fox sports" on a raido so i can get the play by play..as i watch!:beerbang:

I've only been there once. I sat in the Ford Terrace and it was great. The Ford Grandstands should be great as well. Just past the Start/Finish line. I think that you need to set your scanner to 454.000 to get the radio broadcast. That's a Bruton owned track so PRN will probably be broadcasting the race.

454.000 is correct. That is a great track to watch a race. Do your homework and find one of the outlots for parking, you ride a shuttle bus from the lot to the track. I did this the last time I was there and got right out and on the road in just a few minutes.

Enjoy. :beerbang:

i have a hotel "residence inn "in concord..they said a little over a mile from track...

That is a great place to stay. I have stayed in Salisbury the last two times I was there.

Have a great time.

Have a grand time. Be sure to listen to Race Control on the scanner, also. David Hoots runs the show and he can be hilarious. You'll know immediately about cautions, penalties, etc.

Race Control on the scanner, David Hoots. is this something i have to get before or when i get there...(i have not a clue,as 30+ years in fairbanks alaska has left me in the dark :))

If you don't have a scanner already you can probably rent one at the track, I'm sure they will set you up with everything you need including a headset. Without a headset you won't be able to hear anything. You can listen to race control, the broadcast or your favorite driver, or just listen to all 43 drivers plus everything else. Look for the trailers selling all the t-shirts etc. at the track and you will run across a rental outfit. If you bring your own scanner make sure you have a good headset. You can buy a frequency list and program what you like.
Enjoy
