Today top F1 teams agreed on a new plan of action for their 2004 championship. Most of the focus though is on Friday's. First off, friday's 2 hour test session for several teams will be scrapped. Friday practice will remain as normal, and to make up for the two hour test, the bottom 6 teams will be permitted to run a third car on friday. The afternoon pre-qualifying will also be scrapped, in favor of a back to back qualifying on saturday. Cars running in order of points as this year did, and then running slowest first for the next session. The session would be almost back to back and Team Owner of Minardi complained that teams like his could be running with a couple minutes of the first session while top teams could have an hour to an hour and a half to prepare thier car for final qualifying. Although teams have agreed, this plan still awaits final approval from the FIA.

In driver news, BAR has announced today that Jaques Villenueve will not be running in white next year, as his personal manager informed the team that he has wished not to renew a contract. David Richards, team owner, stated that this is a very sad occassion and that quote "the team was built for and around Jaques".
Jaques will most likely not be in F1 machinery next year, as drives are limited to the bottom teams which cannot afford him nor would he prefer to go to a worse team. Maybe another year in Champ Cars? Remember what happened to Zanardi? Maybe time to call it quits Jaques.

Today BAR announced final 2004 lineup. Villenueve is out for good, and Button and Sato will take the wheel of the all new 006
