Im saying it right now Stewart, Johnson, Gordon, and Martin will end up pulling away from the other 8 and who ever of the 4 can leave Talledaga without getting in the big one will be champ.

One more thing had Kyle Busch not of made this crazy move right here he would of made the chase. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9A-X3dgSFUA

Don't count out Pablo.

well im sure hes got plenty of glory sitting in the 13th spot

Vickers. What a waste of a chase spot

Hmmmmmmm............. sounds like a sore loser KB fan.

I hope Martin wins the championship and Vickers comes in second.

Vickers and his team worked hard for the Chase and proved that sometimes an underdog can really put it all together.

I have a feeling that Joe Gibbs had enough of KB's antics and put his foot down. Since then KB has been more restrained in his comments and more polite in his interview even if he is still sarcastic at times.

I am also thinking that this took some of the fire out of KB.

Guess we will have to wait until next year to see.

I pretty much agree with that. It is gonna be one of those four for sure. Me and my parents were talking last night at how there seems to be a lot of "filler" in this chase. There are guys in there that I honestly think will NEVER win a championshp, let alone this year!

Perhaps if Kyle would've given feedback on his car when it wasn't good in some races instead of being a pompous, sarcastic ass over the radio, he might've made the Chase.

I can think of 5 or 6 races where he just sat there *****ing and whining about the car instead of telling Steve Addington what was wrong.

Definitely disappointed that the #17 didn't make the chase - expect some changes to that team - but man, wouldn't it be cool to see Martin win the cup.

Go #5.

I remember reading that Gibbs had a sit down with kb a few weeks ago. Since then it appears he's dropped down a few points on the azzhat scale. Also have to wonder if the sponsor put some heat on too. Afterall with his antics and attitude I'd think it'd make it tough to sell candy to kids, he really doesn't project a positive image at times.

I'm also pulling for Mark. I can't remember a driver so appreciative of his team.

I actually find Martin overdoes the team praise thing and it tends to loose it's...oomph :)

He has, IMO, told it like it is, practiced what he's preached and conducted himself in a manner to which some of these young, ****y drivers should aspire - and maybe even a few of the veterans.

That in my books would make him a deserving and just champion

I agree. Although I would like to see him win it, the praise just seems to be a bit too much at times.

It still amazes me that Mark is so appreciative of any of the Chevies he has driving post Roush. It just seems to me that his exit from Roush still is a thorn in his side. I'm no longer a fan of Mark's, but it wouldn't bother me if he won the trophy. And that would put an end to his title as being the best to never...

I'm rooting for Martin or Montoya to win the Chase.....

....but I'm telling you right now this is Johnson's Championship to loose. He's been so strong in the final 10 races year after year, that I have this bad feeling in the back of my mind Knaus was using the first 26 races as test sessions.

If Johnson wins at NH, WATCH OUT!!!

Seven of the 12 drivers has no chance in hell of winning the Championship, even though they are in the so called "Playoffs". I realize anything can happen, you can choke like Shrub and someone can get hot like Biffle did last year. Even Tiger can get upset, and I would love to see that happen in the Chase, but the drivers who have been consistant and won this year are the favorites and will probrably fight for the Cup. Tony, Mark, Jimmie, Hamlin and or Jeff will be the lead contenders. Vickers has gotten hot, and his crew seem to be up to the challenge. Montoya has been hot also, but can his team get him up there. They need to win a couple to have a chance. The big key will be getting over the mountain of Talledega.

Those four I think are going to make it very interesting. (Tony, Mark, Jimmie, and Jeff). Maybe Kurt B but consistency is his problem. I don't see Hamlin pulling it off, but I thought the same of Clint a couple years back and he surprised me.

in other words, it's gonna be a 4 way fight to see who gets big H the trophy.

I pretty much dont think that coulda been put any better lol.

Honestly though, along with the four favorites there comes some great storylines.

Can Johnson become the first man to win four in a row?
Can Martin FINALLY become a cup champ?
Can Stewart win the championship his first year as driver/owner?
Can Gordon FINALLY complete the drive for 5?

It really is gonna be interesting and have some great drama. If you ask me the other 8 are simply "supporting characters and extras" in a much bigger film. The next ten weeks are gonna be intense..I am proud to say I will be attenind the 6th race of the chase to witness a little of this first hand.

Well obviously, this is the year I want to see Jeff finally win that 5th "official" title. I'm hoping Jimmie being off a bit lately, might not bode well for him. Tony has been off a bit too. Jeff has stayed mostly consistent and is gaining momentum. Besides..... aren't you sick of reading "DRIVE FOR FIVE?!" LOL :D

I knew Kyle wasn't going to make it. He needs to learn the patience of the more mature drivers and if he keeps giving interviews like he has been, he just may gain a bit more respect for the driver he can be. He said he'd figure it out one of these days why it went this way. My feeling? He needed to learn some humility. He can drive like crazy, but he lacks patience at certain times, which has made his season inconsistent. He's also come off like a petulent child throwing hissy fits. I think he blew it big time with his stunt smashing the guitar in Nashville and his less than mature moments after that, which broght not only JD and Coach into a discussion with him regarding his behavior. He had his PR people on his case. I have no doubt that was the result of fans writing his sponsors and saying if he didn't change his disrespectul behavior, they would never buy their products again. We all know in NASCAR, money speaks! I think it also rolls over and fetches, too. LOL ;) :D

You might of answered this Andy, and if so I am sorry...but why do you dislike Vickers so much?

I don't know about the rest of you, but I think this is the best Chase field ever. There's so many storylines, that everyone has someone to cheer for.

I wouldn't count out Montoya. He's been rock solid lately. He could've easily won Indianapolis, Watkins Glen, Pocono, Michigan and Atlanta if he wasn't just points racing. And the Chase includes Texas (Atlanta-clone), California (Michigan clone), Charlotte (Original Atlanta-shaped track), Talladega (Montoya's really good at plate racing), Dover (another good track for Montoya) and Phoenix (good track for open-wheelers)

True but honestly i dont think 10th place finishs every race are going to cut it.

Agreed. JPM is going to have to win at least a couple races in the Chase if he's going to be a real threat.

Johnson, Martin, Stewart, and Gordon are threats to win any given race. Montoya is going to have to do better than them to win his first Championship, and he wont get there without a win or two.

But, he could've easily won two or three races if he hadn't been going super conservative. Let's not forget about Indy either.

Don't kid yourself, Vickers earned his spot.

Thats a fact....over the last 8 races he has accumulated more points than anyone else. A determined effort only paralleled by JPM. I wanted these two guys to make the chase and it is ironic that by making the chase Vickers pushed my favourite driver to 13th.........but all is good. Having Kyle out of the chase with no pressure on him should be fun!

If the Biff can win, he'll be the only champ of all three series in the top levels of NASCAR. Would love to see him win, but same with others as well. There's a couple there I hope don't win but I won't say who.
