2011 Manufacturers Championship Thread

This thread is pretty much irrelevant due to the fact that there are not equal amounts of cars from each manufacturer in the field for any race.

Upset that Chevy is leading? :p

Not at all. I'm just saying that there are more Chevrolets in the field than any other manufacturer, based on that, the odds of a Chevrolet leading the manufacturer points are pretty good.
Which manufacturer is leading the Cup series points?

To be honest, I really do not know who is leading the points. I'd guess it be a Ford (Edwards). But I really do not know for sure.

For anyone wondering, the Nationwide and Trucks series looks like this right now:
Nationwide:
Toyota-81
Ford-70
Chevy-64
Dodge-50

Trucks:
Toyota-60
Chevy-45
Dodge-27
Ford-22

Toyota leading both.

Why does this even matter? All the cars are the same. the only difference is the sticker that tells you it's a "Ford" or a "Chevy". A Manufacturers Champion is kinda pointless when all the cars are the same.

Ford, my prediction..

I predict......the COT! Because let's be honest, it's not anymore of a Ford than it is a Toyota, or a Chevy.

Until NASCAR changes the rule and allow at least the engine and the chassis of the production cars to run again, the "Manufacturers Championship" is pointless.

I Liike the Different bodies they let the Nationwide Cars run.. Much better.. coming soon to Cup,I rtead..

It's still not the body, chassis or the engine of the production car though.

Ford has won it 4 times.

Since 1995? and you don't think GM owns NA$CAR? Isn't the name of the drivers championship trophy the Earl trophy, the guy that used to be the head designer for GM for like 60 years?

The Harley J. Earl Trophy is given to the winner of the Daytona 500. He was a GM car designer and friend of Bill Sr.
